pregnacare vitamins
Morning Ladies
Nurse told me during my 12 week hosp visit to start taking pregnacare vits from 18-20 weeks on - is this necessary? I took them from 2-9 weeks initially for folic acid & omega etc and found them very tough to swallow, plus I associate them now with morning sickness and the thoughts of taking them again is killing me!! Are there alternatives??? Re: pregnacare vitamins
they made me sick also neytiri so I stopped. I wonder why she told you take them? Did she think you were lacking in something like iron or vitamin d? there are other ways of getting these into your system? I think once you have a varied balanced diet you should be OK? Ask your GP at your next visit?
Re: pregnacare vitamins
Some nurses seem to recommend these just for the sake of it so ask why you need them. One midwife told me to take them but my doc & a different midwife told me I didn't need to. I dont like taking anything for the sake of it so generally get a second opinion. Apart from anything else they are expensive to be taking if you don't need them.

thanks girls - yeh ive no idea why she recommended them - i have a healthy balanced diet. Dont particularly like taking tabs if I dont have to either...plus they're so big and manky! Have my 20 week scan on Thurs so will talk to consultant about them.
Re: pregnacare vitamins
I stopped taking them around the morning sickness time too cos I was feeling so crappy and didn't think they were helping. I've started taking them in the last week cos I feel like my diet isn't varied enough & don't want babs to be missing out on anything. Back to the doc this week so will chat to her about it then too
