Good Naas Pub? Help!

Good Naas Pub? Help!

Postby ccjmch » Sun May 13, 2022 5:39 pm

Am organising my wedding from London and need recommendations for a good Sunday drinking pub?! :eek Ideally, somewhere with a private area/room where our guests can be altogether the day after. I am not that familiar with the area and really need some help.
Thanks O-O

Naas has loads of great pubs. To be honest im not to sure about private areas, McCormacks right in the middle of the town is a great pub. Lawlors is a decent pub to and I think they have a private area. They also tend to cater for party's so maybe they would be your best bet.

Haydens is another good pub right beside Lawlors not sure if it has a private area. Same as Kavanaghs is another good pub as well .

I was just in Naas at the weekend and the taxi driver recommended a pub called Grace's it was ok (just beside McDonalds) and there was a party on upstairs that was private so might be good to look into.

Grace's is decent as well its gets a youngish crowd though as well.

I think for a private party room lawlors hotel would be the best bet. I don't think haydens or kavanaghs have private rooms, mccormacks might have something upstairs?

Grace's gets a very young crowd so it might not be the spot for a wedding type group but if they have a private room then it could be different.

There's also killashee hotel which is gorgeous. Also the osprey but that's gone a bit downhill I think.

I would check with McCormacks first, Kavanagh's is lovely but very small and can be tricky to get comfortable if it gets busy (which it does) both McCormacks and Kavanagh's are very close to The Court which is a great night club. I would defo give Grace's a miss for an after wedding party though the crowd are very young it's a good spot but in my opinion all wrong for what you are looking at. Good luck

McCormacks, Kavanaghs or Haydens have no private areas as such. They may be able to section off a bit for you but if its a weekend night they may not. TBH wouldn't go to Graces. As Teapotty said it gets a young crowd so prob not suitable for night after wedding.
I'd go for somewhere like Lawlors. They have loads of areas which can be reserved depending on your numbers. I had my 30th there a few years ago and reserved an area downstairs. A friend had hers there as well and she reserved an area upstairs and both worked well.

ETA - just saw you want a Sunday. The pubs may be able to reserve area then. Kavanaghs have a back bar which I've seen reserved some nights. McCormacks lounge area inside isn't that big so hard to see where they'd reserve for you. Haydens have a back area too which may be suitable. It depends on how many people you think will go. Enjoy!!

The more I think about it,reserving an area in the court might be the best rather than being in a totally separate room which you might be in lawlors. The court might have more atmosphere!

The Court used to have offers on their fb page for functions - think it was something like free finger food if you have x amount of people. Haven't been there in ages so not sure what it was exactly! Am boycotting it because refuse to pay €15 into a nightclub! :-8

It depends on what time they are doing it at. If they are heading out early the court will be fairly dead. They could still head out early go some where like McCormacks and book a place in the court from 11pm.

The Court is a great spot. Good mix in it.

Thanks a million! We're getting married in the Kilashee :thnk I contacted Kavanagh's and they said they have an area (Cocktail Bar) for us. Also, said they can do food and book a two man band for us also. TBH I think I want a pub cause it will be from about 4. Will look into McCormack's too.
Thanks a million - you're all O:o)
