Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone has some good suggestions for a reasonably priced photographer from/or willing to travel to Kilkenny? We like the documentary style of photography....or at least not too overly posed!

Thanks a mill in advance, we are stumped!

Im getting married in Kilkenny too, I got a good price from Paul Andrews, google him and have a look at his pics, I thought his work looked good and he is lovely to deal with. Hope this helps a little :)

Ross Costigan is based in Kilkenny and he does documentary style photos, we didn't use him because he had already booked our photographer but one of our friends did and they were very happy with him

Hi Modelrebel,

I don't envy you in your search for a photographer! There are so many out there it really is difficult to find the perfect one!
I wanted the same as you - documentary style and a photographer that won't spend ages taking posed photos. I want to spend as much time with my guests as possible and not standing with a forced smile for photos that take up precious time.

That is why I went with Philip Bourke (www.philipbourke.com). After looking through his website and reading his FAQ's I knew that this was what I was looking for. I met him and I was blown away by his passion for his work and spent ages looking through his beautiful photos and albums. And just to add, his price is very reasonable. He lives in Cork but he will travel all over

One bit of advice, lots of photographers out there claim to be documentary but if you look through their work, it can be clear that it isn't. Just make sure that you get exactly what you want. HTH! And good luck with the search!

I second Ross Costigan, my sisietr mine had him and he was brilliant ( I was bridesmaid ), he was excellent on the day and is young so has a fresh approach. The wedding features in Confetti Magazine, 25 real weddings.
Hope this helps !!

Oh thank ye all so much, :thnk

I just love this site, everyone is so helpful!!!

Ye have given me some serious food for thought and i'm here scanning through loads of photography websites! :eek

Getting married next October(2013) and all we have sorted is: venue, priest, church, maybe chosen invitations, DJ and band!

Feel very unorganised altogether! :-8

Getting a bit carried away with the emoticons!

Hi There,

Regularly in Kilkenny for weddings, just covered one in the beautiful Lyrath on Thursday gone. My style is very much to capture your day as it happens in a relaxed fashion with a small amount of posed shots mixed in, but not too many !!

More information and pricing on my website.

many thanks,
