Pink -a beautiful but unsuspectingly difficult colour to get right at weddings! The trick to pink is not to overdo it, and keep to one simple shade. Blush pink and easy creams create a soft, gentle palette, perfect for a romantic and warm display. Compiled by Karen Birney

About two weeks ago I spent an extremely lazy Saturday browsing through the vinyl market fair in the Mercantile on Dame Street. Ever since that I’ve wanted to do something for the site/magazine on music-themed weddings. Unfortunately four times a year my head falls off and is attacked by little magazine monsters so I’m unable to muster a thought for approximately 24 hours a day (don’t worry, I secretly love it). Anyway, I received a mail from a friend of mine (HOLLA ATCHA RO!) that simply read ‘Please put this in B Magazine’ and linked to some vinyl-themed wedding invitations. And here we are.
The Album Cover Engagement/Invitation
I came across this engagement shoot by Toast Photography on Ruffledblog.com. It's is based on Bob Dylan's Free Wheelin' album cover and acted as the base for the couple's wedding stationery. Now I know Irish couples aren't generally the type to jump in front of a camera at any given moment ('cides maybe after a few bevs that is) but think of what a gorgeous keepsake this would be when you're both old and...wise?! And if you're super shy, just hide your face behind a prop. Badabing. See more of the stationery, by Chad Pickett, here.
Music sheet themed decor
I'm into bunting. There's something I'd never thought I'd say before but there you go. This bunting from Grace & Favour Home on Etsy would look really cute along an escort card table or on the wall behind the cakestand. Another way of creating that rustic, vintage and classic music theme when your guests enter is to use these little stave-printed pegs as escort card holders. They're magnetic so you can stick them to a wall (made of some sort of iron) or just pin some thick twine to the wall and peg them on that.
Vinyl details
The invites here are by Guestlist on Etsy and include a mixed CD inside with music chosen by the bride and groom (you'll have to check here for terms and conditions, I'm not 'up' on my music copywrite I'm afraid). Found via DesignSponge.
Other really great ideas for old vinyls is to use one as your guest book and frame it later. Just provide gold/silver pens. via TheKnot.com

If you fancy something music related for your tables, print out the covers of your favourite albums, paste them onto coloured card and use them as table numbers. Table numbers by Kia Kreations via WeddingWindow.com

We would like to say a huge thank you to everybody who made the stunning La Vie en Couleur a success. It was fantastic to see the team work so well together and to have such amazing talent pull out the stops to create such beautiful shots! It was a pleasure to be in the company of some of the finest in the business at the gorgeous Summerhill House Hotel (even if Rachel did ruin the shots by letting go of the balloons). I came across Belathee Photography on my daily trawl through wedding blogs. I knew instantly that the unique boutique photography style would be perfect for our summer cover, so I emailed owners Dorothee and Anabel who responded within hours and immediately started compiling options for me. The two were an absolute pleasure to work with and I am so thankful that we were able to use their work on our cover (see previous post). So to say thanks I thought I would show one of their stunning weddings that was featured on Style Me Pretty (and also happens to be the wedding of Il Divo's David Miller!). This wedding is so adorable...and chic...and cool and all the other adjective for absolutely amazing! Oh and guess what? The two are available to shoot weddings in Ireland! http://www.belathee.com/
This may be a little to complicated for me, but for all you DIY divas you should totally try this! Would be perfect for favours or bridal party gifts. From the amazing Style Me Pretty by Grey Likes Weddings.
Our wedding is turning out to be a complicated affair. I am American and the main ceremony and reception will be in America, but we are also having a reception in Kilkenny (where my fianc is from) which will be nearly as big as the one in the States. We are finding that there is really no easy way to relay this information to our 200 guests.
We have decided to do the bulk of our planning online, since it is really the only way to bring our wedding together in one point (and address). I don't want people to have to pay international postage to send RSVP's to America from Ireland, or vice versa. We have set up a website where our guests can RSVP, get information on both receptions and contact us for information. We have also decided that we need to send Save the Dates, and are going to try to do it over e-mail. The only concern I have it the older guests who don't even own a computer (ie the grandparents). So I think we will have to send a couple paper Save the Dates. I have been doing research on the best way to word the online RSVP in the invitations and I found these tips from the Budget Savvy Bride blog (which is great by the way): On one side of the RSVP card is:
"The favor of a reply is requested by . Please RSVP on our wedding website: www.ourweddingwebsitename.com"
On the other side of the card is:
TO RSVP: Navigate your web browser to www. ourweddingwebsitename.com. Click the bottom left square labeled 'RSVP' to submit your RSVP. Fill in the information in the appropriate boxes: your names and the number of people attending. If you will not be attending, please put 'NO' in the '# Attending?' box If you are unable to go to our website, please call Jessica at to RSVP. Thank you! We look forward to celebrating with you!"
You will receive an e-mail with the RSVP info, and then it is up to you to keep a spreadsheet of the information!
