Do bridal couples today organise their weddings using the internet?

Bride's Diary

Do me a favour!

Now that the tan (well a few freckles) has faded away into the distant past, I decided to get back on the wedding track again. I have to say that being without WOL in October was a serious shock I never realised how much I relied on it and the girls for their inspiring ideas.

Now that the big things are all sorted out (yes, the church is definitely booked & confirmed and our deposit cheque has been cashed!!) I thought about a little bit of trivia wedding favours to be exact. I had a good old root around on the internet as well as the hefty pile of wedding mags building up in our box room for inspiration.

You could spend an absolute fortune on bits & bobs to give away if you put your mind to it exquisite silver tone vases a snip at 4 each with 100 guests on the list, that would cost more than the invites!! One thing I really liked was fortune cookies in special takeout boxes printed with your name & address very unusual but also darn expensive when you add in the P&P from the States so the expensive munchies were also a non-runner.

Then, I was heading out on Friday to the Avoca sale (wow!) when my next-door neighbour told me about a candle sale in Rathdrum only 20 minutes away. I am a sucker for sales so I sped off in my trusty car & found the factory which was closing down. It was packed solid with bodies & felt like Grafton Street on Christmas Eve so in I plunged with my wire basket.

After a good 15 minutes of being battered by ladies intent on buying everybody a candle for Christmas, I spied some little pillar candles in the corner. They were really pretty and came individually wrapped in a lovely cream organza bag even better still, they had the magic word "wedding" on them well, 30 of them did anyway so I made up the rest with candles bearing pictures of irises which I love. I managed to get 50 of these candles for just 45 what a bargain I saw them a few months ago for 3.50 each. They will make gorgeous favours for the ladies!

Now what can I use for the men????

Take care

Aoife

P.S. Many congratulations to Mary & Mannix who just got married. Im now all alone here on the board somebody PLEASE come & join me!!
