Bride's Diary

'Love is in the Air'

Who would ever thought my mad days of holiday repping in the lively resort of Magaluf would have ended in a proposal! I spent five long years working as a holiday rep in Mallorca. Let's just say my life has changed a lot since those days! I was working with an English girl called Becca, and when the season was over we arranged to meet up in her hometown in Essex.

We had a great weekend, and it was then I was introduced to her best friend Dave, a very handsome, good looking and fun loving man. (By the way, I have allowed him have some input in this diary, so needless to say that's his entry!)

Dave and I kept in touch, and that's where the "email of love" comes in! We were emailing each other, and in one email Dave declared is undying love to me!!! It was very much a pillow talk email! Dave then sent me a funny joke attached to the email which I sent to all my friends plus some of his, I never realised the "email of love" was attached underneath!!

My phone didn't stop ringing, my friends couldn't believe it, and Dave, to this day, has never lived it down. So next time you receive a horoscope email, scroll down - you never know what you will see at the end of it!

After a few visits to Essex, we had the chat about moving in together! I got the short straw and moved to the UK. It was difficult to start with, as I knew no one and we had to live with his parents for the first few months. I eventually got a job, and we found a little flat to rent. Things were going really well, and I had really settled in! We decided to buy our own place, (I have made Dave promise we will move back to Ireland in a few years!) That was October 2003. We have spent all year doing renovations and decorating our new house. A proposal would have made everything complete, but Dave is very practical and was waiting for the right time.
