Bride's DiaryStyles, Shapes, Colours! With the church and the reception booked, it was time to sit back, relax, and forget about the wedding for a while. I knew that with the wedding on a Monday we wouldn't have that much trouble booking suppliers. A few months went by and the wedding seemed so far in the future it wasn't worth thinking about. I started to look at dresses, I couldn't resist it! I spent a fortune on bridal magazines, and got some really great ideas. Myself and Daves mum spent a Saturday looking in loads of different bridal shops. It was such good fun. I really missed my mum at this stage and felt that she should have been there with me. We considered her flying over for the weekend, but it worked out to expensive. Daves mum was great, and after each shop we called my mum to tell her what we had seen! I tried on numerous dresses, different styles, different shapes, and different colours. In the last shop, I found THE dress, put it on and my face lit up. I had found the one. There was no doubt about it. It was amazing. Never did I think I would find such a perfect dress. The even better news was it was in the sale. So after a few more calls to my mum, we decided to buy it. I must mention at this stage the dress was a little tight but I had loads of time to loose weight, and with all the stress leading up to the wedding, I was sure to loose some more weight. I hadn't planned on getting my dress so soon, but was so excited. I joined a local slimming group, and had a stone to loose, and 5 months to do it. Out with all the chocolate treats, biscuits and desserts and in with the detox, fruit, vegetables and unlimited salads! I was finding it very difficult trying to organise my wedding in Dublin from the UK, and slowly started to become addicted to wedding websites! I don't know what I would have done without them. They were the topic of all my conversations. Dave thought I was going mad! After weeks of research and comparing prices I ordered my stationary on line, from a supplier I hadn't heard of before. I really had put so much time and consideration into this part. The prices were fantastic with a saving of 100 (sterling). All my surfing had paid off! I was so excited when I arrived home to find they had arrived 2 weeks early. My self and Dave ripped open the large box and couldn't believe our eyes. They were completely the wrong invitations, all with our details nicely printed on them. It was a Friday evening so we had to wait till the Monday to speak directly to the stationary company. What if I couldn't exchange them? What if I was stuck with these ones? How could it have gone so wrong? It seemed like one of the longest weekends ever, but I eventually got to speak to someone at the company. The order form had been sent to me Pre printed, I just had to enter the wordings sign it and send it off. In the small print it had a code for the stationary I had ordered, as I had given the order over the phone and confirmed the stationary I wanted, I didn't think of checking this part. So as I signed that order form, it was partially my fault, after a very heated discussion and a lot of tears they agreed to change them, if I paid for the extra return postal costs, which I gladly accepted. That's was now the 2nd hurdle we had got over surely things were to get easier? |
