Bride's Diary

It's time to put on makeup....

Since I last posted my diary, I have had my make up trial. I'll briefly explain how it worked out.

I had made an appointment with Niamh Fallon for a makeup trial for Sunday 16th May, which just happened to be one of the warmest days of the year so far. I had arranged for my bridesmaid and my mum to have their makeup trial too. The house was over run with ladies and makeup. Niamh arrived at around 2pm and spent a few minutes with each of us learning about our skin care routine and what makeup we use regularly, colours etc. She started making up my bridesmaid and about 30 minutes later, she was done. Although you knew that she was wearing makeup, it wasn't applied heavily and the colours she used were lovely.

I was next and I told Niamh that I would be wearing my contact lenses for the start of the day and would probably take them out later on in the evening when my eyes might get tired. I also mentioned that I would have fake tan applied and she duly noted all this information. After half an hour I too was done. Not bad at all. I looked made up but not so far as (a) you wouldn't recognise me and (b) it looked wrong on me. I was really pleased.

Last but by no means least to be made up was my mother. Her skin is so soft I envy her. Niamh even commented on how easily the make up could be applied on her skin. It just goes to show you, that if you do put the time into your skincare regime in the morning and last thing at night, you will have really beautiful skin. Mum only needed 25 minutes to be done up and the only thing missing was somewhere to go that evening to show off our new looks!!!

I would, without a shadow of a doubt, have no qualms about recommending Niamh to any bride to be as a makeup consultant. If nothing else, I get the feeling that she will be able to keep me calm on my wedding morning!!

The next things to do are to finally decide on a honeymoon, arrange the hen, decide on the flowers and hair for the day and to get the lads kitted out.

Until next time,

Lynne
