Bride's DiaryFiance! I cant believe its already been 2 months since my last Diary entry. Things have definitely calmed down a lot and Im getting used to my new title of Fiance! We decided we werent going to have an engagement party but my family in Donegal thought differently so we all met up for a drink or 5, Sean and I met with the priest a bit earlier that everyone else went to the bar to ask him to perform the ceremony for us. He is a family friend Ive known for years and he was absolutely delighted to be asked! So the 3 of us went down to the family and announced our date and had a few drinks! We were given some gifts as well, which I wasnt expecting, a lot of people were so generous! The funniest present we got though was a pottery Jar with Wedding Fund on the front of it! The jar was duly passed around the bar and there was about 70 in it by the end of the night! All the girls made a wish with my engagement ring and it was a good night..even if Sean and my brother snuck off at 11 to see a movie and left me with all my relations!! Before we went to Paris, I made an offer on a house near where Im from at home and came back to hear that I had finally been given Mortgage approval..so then began a stressful 6 weeks of sorting out paper work and house insurance and all the rest of it,,then the mortgage fell through!! Started all over again, thankfully I was buying the house off a cousin of mine who was moving away so we were able to hold it and get another mortgage sorted. I didnt think or talk of weddings for the time of it and finally on the 23rd December the sale closed and I was officially a home owner!! We had a lovely Christmas together, our first as an engaged couple! Its still hard to believe Im getting married next year and though Im booking things and paying deposits its still almost not feeling real!! I booked our photographer yesterday! Thats a weight off my shoulders,,and off my wallet! Have provisionally booked both the videographer and the band, who are playing at a wedding in April which we are going to sneak in to and have a listen!! They come highly recommended so fingers crossed! And we are having great fun sending for and receiving Holiday Brochures and have no idea what we are going to do! Every time we pick one placewe fall in love with another!! But sure plenty of time to pick out our dream honeymoon J Until next time .. Sinead. |
