|
Just wondering if anyone has any recommendations (or otherwise) for buying a sofa. I was told to stay away from Land of Leather. Anyone bought from Jim Langans or Diamond furniture?
Any stories good or bad would be appreciated. _________________

my friend bought a suite of furniture recently from reids........ she was given a rough waiting time of about 12 weeks and ended up waiting over 16 weeks, the staff were lovely the day she bought the suite, when she rang up to find out about the delay they weren't so nice.....

Another BIG NO here for Land of Leather, won't go into the full story but lets just say we were NOT HAPPY!
We found Classic Furniture very good, get what you pay for, when they say you will get it and customer service very good.

i bought a leather suite in REID in blanchardstown. I bought cream leather, i ordered it in Nov and was due for delivery March 17th . it arrived a week after not a problem . one word of advice i picked the cream i wanted from a sample swatch was told the wait time was due to the fact it had to come from italy BLAHBLAH, Anyway the suite came and i wasntt that happy with the colour - i felt it was different to the sample. they had told me that the colour depends on the quality of the hideand how well the dye takes . it has grown on me and at times i love it , just the next time i buy ill hold out til i can actually see the suite im buying . also feel it was total bull about the Italy factor as the labels said china !. anyway thats my story overall delivery time etc was spot on . just dont buy a suite from a sample swatch

Got furniture from Jim Langans, table, six chairs and some glass fronted units. Found them fine to deal with, reasonable prices and they underestimated delivery time. Told me 8 weeks and was delivered in four! No problems there and they always have something I like.

Land of Leather ...In my opinion dont go there.
The Natuzzi suites are very good quality, mine is great....you can get them in Reids, but you will wait 3 months for delivery as they come from Italy.

take a trip down to navan, there's an industrial estate down there that does great furniture and very good prices and they deliver to dublin for free
we got our some furniture there and they asked us what day would be best for us to deliver and they turned up to the minute they said they would
and all the shops seem to still put furniture together for you down there and bring it upstairs which is not done anymore by most shops

I agree with pluppy Beechmount is great and there are loads of places there. There is also a shop called Flowerhill furniture where we got our sofa and WE LOVE IT! _________________

Hiya,
I bought a leather suite from Diamond Living about a year and a half ago!!!
The leather now looks really old and raggy looking and there's rips in it!!
I would'nt buy from them again but in saying that I have 2 small kids who use it like a bouncy castle!!

I've had a lot of problems buying furniture for our new house (as documented on this site!) but I would really recommend House of Mexico in Tallaght. We got a superb deal from them for our couch. We convinced them to sell us the display model so we could have it immediately, got a big discount because of it and had it delivered (for free) a couple of days later.
They were great to deal with. _________________

We recently got a lot of furniture - bedroom, sofa and Living room stuff in Harvey Normans, Airside. Found them excellent to deal with and good value for money. Also, they have a nice selection. Stay away from Reids, they make out like they are having a sale but its not a sale, Its same as normal prices when you break it all down. I should know, I work in marketing. Anyway, found them hard to deal with it and not near as nice as the sales guys in Harvey Norman.

I bought bedroom furniture and couches from Harvey Norman, great to deal with.
All furniture was in ahead of time, delivery men took all the boxes and packaging. Very helpful.. _________________
