Where did you go on honeymoon, or where are you going? I want to go to the Carribean but I'm afraid of hurricane season!!

That sounds lovely! Just back from Italy though, was at a family wedding there. Would love to go to Las Vegas then onto somewhere relaxing, but dont want to get swept away by a hurricane!

Jolee
We are getting married 27th july and heading off on Monday 31st July. After much consideration and having been told august is the worst month in the year to honeymoon - given hurricane season, rainy season etc we decided to stick to the Med.

We head first to a lovely oldie worldie seaside town outside Lisbon in Portugal called cascais for 5 nights in 4 star hotel - we are then picked up transfered to airport and fly to Barcelona where we are again picked up and brought to the port to board 'Voyager of the Seas for a 7 night med cruise - we have a stateroom with a balcony and apparently get loads of lovely little extras (ie champagne on arrival, and bloody marys delivered to suite every day ) because we are honeymooners !!

We then have another three nights in barcelona once we get back from the cruise to shop and get ready to head home - CANT WAIT !!!

Well we're gonna brave it and we have booked Jamaica!! It's generally not hit by hurracanes, but it does have a rainy season, but that means about 10-15 mins of rain a day and then the blistering sunshine is back out!!
Anyway, we'll be soo laid back Jamaica style that we won;t care if we are swept away!! Can't wait!

We're going to New York, Florida and Boston in August - never thought of hurricanes when we decided!

we're going to South Afirca and the Malidves. It is the beginning of Spring in South Africa and the end of the rainy season in maldives so we are just going to risk it and hope for the best

Would anyone recommend australia at this time of the year? Would love to go to The Great Barrier Reef but want to go at the best possible time, would we be better off going in January.
I like the sound of Tuscany or Portugal though, your honeymoons there sounded really lovely-

We went to Australia for 3 weeks in August, toured the East coast. Its a perfect time for touring Queensland as its the dry season. Weather was hot during the day and evenings/nights were cool.
