We are looking to go to Kenya for 3 weeks on honeymoon in early July.We are hoping to combine a safari with some relaxing time at a beach resort.We have been quoted approx 3850 euros per person.This includes 2 weeks at a resort in mombasa and 1week on safari with the masai mara. We would be getting fullboard on safari and halfboard at the 4 star beach resort. Does this figure seem excessive? We had hoped to also do Tanzania, but now even the trip to Kenya seems very expensive. Any tips suggestions, would be greatly appreciated.thank you.

We paid about $7,000 per person for ours - safari's in Kenya are very expensive.

one bit of advice - same goes for any honeymoon really - do the beach resort first, so you be nicely rested and relaxed for going on safari.

I know someone who went straight to safari after their wedding and they were so tired, they couldn't fully enjoy it

I would disagree with the above post and say do the beach part after the safari! We got married on a Friday and didn't go away on honeymoon until the wednesday (after a weekend of partying ) The Safari in itself is tiring- early morning starts (not every morning!) And if you are moving from one lodge/national park to another it often involves long drives.
