we did our snag yest and there is still some damp in the walls where we had a leak a few months ago. they were supposed to replace all the plasterboard that was wet but dont think they did now so looks like it might set us back another while as it will be harder to replace it now, the fact the house is finished.

Hi Andi C, we had a similar problem with our house last year.

As annoying as it is, dont sign for the house until you are hundred percent sure the wall has been redone. It took us an age to get the builder back in cause we signed before they did it.

Best of Luck.

HI Andi C,

I work for in a solicitors and we get clients with problems like this all the time.

DON'T SIGN until such a time as you are fully satisfied that the problem has been rectified. Anyway, if there is a rush on it, at least insist that yoru solicitor gets some sort of undertaking from the builder that the problem will be remedied by the time you get your keys etc.

Good luck!

Anyway, if it's a new house and there is problems structurally with it later, it should be covered by Homebond/Premier Guarantee!
