To Keep Your Marriage Brimming
Ogden Nash (1902-1971)
To keep your marriage brimming,
With love in the loving cup,
Whenever you're wrong admit it;
Whenever you're right shut up.
"Communion Reflection "
Today is a day you will always remember,
a great day in anyones life,
Youll start the day just two people in love
and end it as husband and wife.
Its a brand new beginning, the start of a journey,
with moments to cherish and treasure,
And although therell be times when you both disagree,
these will surely be out weighed by pleasure.
Youll have heard many words of advice in the past,
when the secrets of marriage were spoken,
But now you know that the answers lie hidden inside,
where the bond of true love lies unbroken.
So live happy forever as lovers and friends,
Its the dawn of a new life for you,
as you stand there together with love in your eyes
from the moment you whisper I Do.
And with luck, and Gods help,
all your hopes and dreams can be real,
may success find its way to your hearts.
Tomorrow can bring you the greatest of joys,
but today is the day it all starts."
On the inside back cover
we had this poem, plus a thank you note to all our guests:
For two people, this dawn brought a magical day.
Now husband and wife, we head on our way.
As the first page unfolds, and our life inks its path,
May it write a true story where forever love lasts.
Let our journey be happy, till death us do part,
Of one thousand chapters, may this be the start..
We used the second one,one of my bridesmaids read it after communion it was amazing it sounded straight from the heart and everyone clapped after she read it.
