Hi ladies,

Just registered here today as i have a bit of an emergency and really need some help, advice, reccomendations.
Himself and myself planned on getting married Sept 08 but due to personal circumstance on himselfs side last month decided to push the wedding forward to sept 07... short notice but managed to book a church for a thursday (wanted saturday but might as well have been asking to be married on the moon!) and provisionally booked roganstown house in swords for the receiption (my mam was delighted) . we went to see the priest earlier tonight and he told me that he had made a mistake and someone else has already booked the church and the only do one wedding a day cant believe it... my sister (bm) rang the priest and secretary 4 times to confirm the date so she could organize the receiption im very lucky she is doing lots of organizing i work shifts in a busy maternity hospital so cant be sneaking off for phonecalls... anyway im devastated it was so hard to get a decent place for the receiption and now im just up in the air ... the church is so important to me was christened there holy communion confirmation my two sisters and parents were married there so understandably it is my dream to get married there too. my problem is my h2b isnt from Ireland and some of his relatives have already organized flights (v eager i knowany opportunity to visit the emereld isle ) anyway just wondering girlies if anyone knows any other decent places north county dublin area i had hoped for country house type place but i think ill have to settle for something else now its a terrible feeling knowing you cant have the wedding you really want... anyway i have tried The Grand, The Marine, Clontarf castle, Portmarnock country club etc... any suggestions would be great!

Think Vertigo has covered off most but another couple you coudl consider are:

1. Portmarnock Hotel and Golf Links (sis got married here - its fab and you can get your pics on the beach)
2. Grand Hotel Malahide
3. White Sands Hotel, Portmarnock

Best of luck!

Can totally recommend the Boyne Valley, we had ours there in June 2005 and it was fantastic. They were so professional and well organised, I could just state what I wanted and leave them to it and it was all done to my satisfaction (and I'm hard to satisfy!)

I have been around alot of them and from the Northside myself. I think the Grand in Malahide is lovely - my parents were at a wedding there recently and said it was fab. I was at the Country Club a few months ago it was nice but Id prefer the Grand. We have chosen a venue on the Northside but are going with something a bit different.Pm me if you want more details.

Is the Ballymascanlon outside Dundalk too far away. It's just at the top of the motorway and is only 40 mins from Dublin Airport.
I got married there 3 weeks ago and can strongly recommend it. It has 90 rooms so loads of room for guests to stay and has lovely grounds.

All of our guests, many from across the Irish sea, were very impressed. It has a country house feel but with modern facilities.... and is very reasonably priced!

Hey there

One more i thought of..

Crowne Plaza Dublin Airport
Address : Northwood Park , Santry Demesne, Dublin 9, Ireland

Its set off the road in quite nice grounds and is only a few years old as far as i know.

Let us know how you get on!
