Hi George, I'm getting married in August this year in Navan. I have booked the castle arch hotel in trim for the reception. On the recommendation of the hotel I booked Eamon Toal and his band for the live music. This was 14 months ago. My fiance was informed yesterday by Mr. Toal that he is now no longer doing the wedding as another wedding has come up in Wexford on the same day. He said he cancelled us by mistake. It is now 7 weeks away from the wedding and we have just found this out. It will be hard to get a decent band now at this late stage and even if we do they will cost a hell of a lot more than Eamon. As we went on the recommendation of the hotel should they be held part responsible for this mess and should I seek the difference in amounts from the hotel? I need to organise music for a church wedding. The bride and groom want the music to be traditional irish. I need to try and contact musicans willing to play and sing for the ceremony. The only problem is the wedding is in a small town in Kilkenny the day after st. stephens day, the 27th of dec,2004.Any suggestions?Do you think that it will cost more money because of it is Christmas time??

I just booked a band to play for 3 hours at our reception. This would only leave one hour for the DJ. I suppose I need to rearrange the schedule a bit - maybe cut some time off of the drinks reception? As it is now, the ceremony is at 1:30 and the drinks reception is set to start at 2:45, dinner at 6pm, Band at 9pm and DJ at 12:00am. The entertainment has to be finished by 1am. Is this the norm?
