The goddess that is Sofia Vergara only needs to flutter her luscious lashes to turn heads, but at the Emmys this week it was her ears that did the eye-catching. Many brides like to opt for an upstyle for a classic and neat look on their wedding day, but if they’re anything like me they may feel a little exposed having all their hair off their face. Big earrings are a great way to make you feel feminine and elegant and provide a little security blanket if you’re used to having hair to play with!
Blue statement earrings are a different way of adding your ‘something blue’ to your wedding day, and will look AMAZING if you have blue eyes. Brown eyes look great with emerald green earrings. Compiled by Karen Birney

The WeddingsOnline girls are in sunny spirits this afternoon (look at that blue sky!) so we thought a little colourful palette would be a nice addition to the today's blog posts! If you are having a pre-wedding shoot with your photographer, colourful balloons are a gorgeous way to add some sparkle to your images, and will give you something to play with if you're feeling a little shy. For your wedding, a rainbow palette is easy to build on as you don't need to make sure you have all the same shades between your bridesmaid dresses, flowers and stationery, so there's less pressure in planning and more fun!

But there is something just so warm, cosy and romantic about winter weddings. So let's put all the salted nonsense out of our mind and concentrate on some of the beautiful trends that could make your winter wedding even more delicious. Enjoy!
Part 2 of Winter Wedding Trends will be up tomorrow! Like us on Facebook to view first!
“The day was full of great moments,” said their Photographer, Grainne Flynn of Gra Photography. “Richard whisked his bride off on his much-loved 1960s Vespa from the Dublin Registry Office to the canal where they shared plenty of bubbles with their close family and friends - once they were given a rusty old bottle opener by a friendly local, that is.”
“Feeding ducks, throwing flower bombs, guests tucking into wraps from the food market and Janine stopping traffic in her exquisite John Rocha number, the vibe was relaxed, urban and really rather cool,” Grainne adds.
“After strolling along the canal to Locks restaurant, their personalised magnums of wine were popped open and it was time for me to leave them to it,” says Grainne. “A simply beautiful wedding.”

A cute and easy DIY project to create your very own Papel Picado flags. Hang them in the church or drape them around you reception room to help add a splash of colour to your big day.
Materials
Various colours of tissue paper - maybe in your wedding colour theme
 Double sided tape or glue
 Scissors
 Ribbon
 Paper for template
Step-by-step
1. Fold paper for the template into 1/6s length-wise. Once paper is in 1/2, fold it into 1/3s.
2. Cut small shapes along the folded sides of the template.
3. Open to see if you like the pattern.
4. Then lay the template over the tissue paper, which should be folded in the exact same way the template is.
5. Cut the tissue in the same pattern as the template.
6. Unfold and repeat in the same way for other colours of tissue.
7. Lay ribbon out and stick different colour tissue flags side-by-side on the ribbon with the double sided tape or glue. Leave about enough space either side so the banner can be tied up.
8. Stick another piece of ribbon to the front side of the banner.
9. Now hang it up and stand back to admire all your 'hard' work!

About two weeks ago I spent an extremely lazy Saturday browsing through the vinyl market fair in the Mercantile on Dame Street. Ever since that I’ve wanted to do something for the site/magazine on music-themed weddings. Unfortunately four times a year my head falls off and is attacked by little magazine monsters so I’m unable to muster a thought for approximately 24 hours a day (don’t worry, I secretly love it). Anyway, I received a mail from a friend of mine (HOLLA ATCHA RO!) that simply read ‘Please put this in B Magazine’ and linked to some vinyl-themed wedding invitations. And here we are.
The Album Cover Engagement/Invitation
I came across this engagement shoot by Toast Photography on Ruffledblog.com. It's is based on Bob Dylan's Free Wheelin' album cover and acted as the base for the couple's wedding stationery. Now I know Irish couples aren't generally the type to jump in front of a camera at any given moment ('cides maybe after a few bevs that is) but think of what a gorgeous keepsake this would be when you're both old and...wise?! And if you're super shy, just hide your face behind a prop. Badabing. See more of the stationery, by Chad Pickett, here.
Music sheet themed decor
I'm into bunting. There's something I'd never thought I'd say before but there you go. This bunting from Grace & Favour Home on Etsy would look really cute along an escort card table or on the wall behind the cakestand. Another way of creating that rustic, vintage and classic music theme when your guests enter is to use these little stave-printed pegs as escort card holders. They're magnetic so you can stick them to a wall (made of some sort of iron) or just pin some thick twine to the wall and peg them on that.
Vinyl details
The invites here are by Guestlist on Etsy and include a mixed CD inside with music chosen by the bride and groom (you'll have to check here for terms and conditions, I'm not 'up' on my music copywrite I'm afraid). Found via DesignSponge.
Other really great ideas for old vinyls is to use one as your guest book and frame it later. Just provide gold/silver pens. via TheKnot.com

If you fancy something music related for your tables, print out the covers of your favourite albums, paste them onto coloured card and use them as table numbers. Table numbers by Kia Kreations via WeddingWindow.com
