Can any of you who had their hen in Westport recommend a nice place to eat?Somewhere informal that wont frown on a gang of women and nice food? Thanks in advance.

We're going to Sol Rio. It's supposed to be good. Ask for upstairs if there's a big group of you.

I would recommend an Italian restaraunt that is up a snicket off the main road, though I don't know what it's called. The seafood there and cheesecake was out of this world.

I know that's not much help but I wonder if anyone knows where I mean?!

Lemon Peel is supposed to be one of the best restaurents there. there's also a very good indian and a place called JJ O'Malleys which serves neat cocktails.

Have listed some others:

The Lemon Peel The Octagon Westport Co Mayo

The Blue Wave Restaurant Atlantic Coast Hotel Westport Co. Mayo

Ardmore House The Quay Westport Co. Mayo

Quay Cottage Restaurant The Harbour Westport Co. Mayo

Sol Rio is really nice. They used to do a great black tagliatelle with crab claws ! Very good value and nice menu.

Hi kazh
I think the place you might be talking about is La Bella Vita on
High St.

Went there once for my birthday a couple of years ago and it was FANTASTIC.

Just a note on The Atlantic Coast, had dinner there last year, was down on a girlie wknd, and the meal was awful!! Plus it's outside the town a bit, so you'll have to get a taxi in to the centre,

Was it in the bistro or upstairs in the restaurant?

Don't know if this is too late, but Il Vulcano (Italian) could be a good choice. The layout allows big groups to sit together and if you're nice the waiters will give you a free shot at the end!! Drop me a PM if you want the number.
