Does anyone have feedback on the rosslake hotel in roscahill county galway. Im quite new to this website and have asked question before with no replies. Any helpers out there. Have booked it but im having doubst now. Went to have a 2nd look at it at the weekend, wasnt 100% and it didnt help that the owner was not very accomadating. Now im just not sure

A friend of mine got married there last April and she was delighted with the place. She said the staff were very helpful, she was delighted with their room and had no complaints regarding the food/drink.

Delighted to have some feedback. Did u attend the wedding. I did see the room last weekend before a wedding. Just a bit concerned as the tables around the edge of the room were without linen. After great discussion he did saythey he could order some in at extra costs. Will have a think about the whole thing. Started looking at other places including Cloonacauneen castle.Its a difficult decision

I don't know the venue so cant be much help but i would say if you're having doubts about the place at this early stage and the owner is not being helpful then i'd look elsewhere. The amount of money you pay you deserve all the help and assistance you need and its not right if they're not being giving it to you (within reason of course!) Have a quick look at some other venues for comparison purposes, even if you dont fancy them you might get a better idea of things

in reply to your question emeralsd - I was at a wedding in the rosslake and while the bride and groom were delighted with it and we had a fantastic day I have to be honest and say I wasn't hugely impressed with the place. The room had a lovely view out the back to gardens but the room itself lacked any real atmosphere. The food was good but the staff weren't great (started clearing up the coffee cups while the speeches were still being done!). They had 2 bars - one where the dancing was and one outside in the foyer which was handy esp for those who wanted to chat away from the music.
It really comes down to how you feel about the place - as dill says if you're having doubts now, either confront the owner/manager about your reservations or look at somewhere else.
We did have a fantastic day though!

I replied in Vendors & Suppliers. I was at a wedding there about 5 years ago and had a great day, but as I said, I'm not sure whether that was for other personal reasons, or because of the venue itself IYKWIM!
