If your dress has unsightly creases or there's been some terrible accident and you're about to walk up the isle you may need our on-site service. We will come to you or you can come to us (if you have the time!).
Preservation Kit
Is your dress a very simple cut with little beading or other embellishments? Are you confident of the professionalism of your local dry cleaner? Does he /she come highly recommended? (Please see our Advice Page for hints on choosing a dry cleaner). If the answer is yes, then we can provide you with our uniquely designed “Preservation Kit” by post. This comes with all the materials you will need and detailed instructions on how to properly fold and pack your dress so that it is fully supported and protected including:
Hand-made Museum-standard box made from specially milled acid free card and secured with rust-proof copper rivets. Side-opening flap for easy access.
Multiple sheets of crisp white acid free tissue paper
White 100% cotton researcher gloves for the safe handling of your dress (protects from snagging caused by jewellery and sharp nails and staining caused by hand-cream and perspiration)
100g desiccant sachet to prevent dampness and mould growth
Humidity Indicator Card which monitors the environment in which your dress is stored
