One of the earliest examples in Ireland of an unfortified house, The Beaulieu you see today was constructed in the late 17th and early 18th Centuary, in a Dutch style thought to be unique in Ireland.

The present owner Gabriel DeFreitas is tenth generation descendant of Sir Henry Tichbourne who settled at Beaulieu in 1650.

The origins of the estate can be traced back to the time of the Normans when the Plunkett family obtained royal consent for the lands.

Our family home for over 350 years we offer personal attention for your special day

Beaulieu offers a truly magical venue for your wedding reception. Our package centres on your hire of the house in which you arrange your own programme. Our experience is available to offer advice and alternate uses for the rooms - but most important - it is your day.

The number of guests does not present a problem at Beaulieu but there is a limit to the numbers able to dine in the House. The Hall seats 50, the Dining room 30, the Anteroom 20  - max 100 people. Thereafter a marquee is needed which is situated on the lawn and connected to the House via the Drawing room.

The house is dominated by the large two storey Hall off which the other rooms lead. The Dining Room, Drawing room, Grand staircase with the Ballroom situated beyondan Anteroom

Functions in autumn and winter include log fires in the Hall,

On the first floor we provide two bedrooms and a Bathroom for changing - we are unable to offer accommodation but there are a selection of local hotels and an excellent taxi facility

From the Drawing Room a door leads to the large terraced Lawn where a glorious setting awaits with views over the River Boyne.

The Marquee would be situated on the lawn with a link to the Drawing Room enabling the party to Dine with views over the river Boyne.
