"Essence"Ireland's foremost intenational singing duo featuring Karen Lynch, a Canadian Soprano and Paul Redmond, an Irish Tenor.
Their performance covers a wide variety of styles falling into four main types: Spiritual, Celtic, Romantic and Classical; including songs from Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables, West Side Story, popular tunes and Irish favourites.
Karen and Paul, who are as approachable as they are tallented, bring a unique service to couples navigating the minefield of 'music for the Big Day'. Their passion for their craft will be apparent as they guide each couple through their ceremony and if needed, beyond to the sometimes, awkward lulls in the later stages of the day. They will help you select that special balance of melodies that is just right for you.
So, whether your seeking serene, inspired reverence in the ceremony or a mixture of light-hearted, classical or traditional entertainment for your guests at the 'waiting' stages of the day contact Essence for that something special.
Their musical mission is to "Sing from our hearts and bring ageless romance to all those who hear and are touched by our music".
Karen Lynch was born in Canada and made her stage debut aged four. She was encouraged by her musical mother to study singing. Her award winning performances resulted in music scholarships to the Royal Conservatory of Music, Toronto and the State University of New York, where she was trained by some of North America's top voice coaches and choral conductors, including Dr. David Ouchterlony, Elmer Isler, Lukas Foss and John Rutter. She successfully auditioned for the Emma Kirkby Master Class in the International Music School in Dartington, U.K.. She has performed on stage with the world renowned soprano Dame Kiri Te Kanawa. Now living in Ireland, Karen is taking another exciting step in her musical career.
Paul Redmond first caught the attention of audiences with his live performances on RTE in the John Player Tops of the Town Competition winning the awards for the Most Promising Entertainer and Most Outstanding Singer. He has studied with the renowned Martin Dempsey who inspired Paul to develop what has been described as a "golden tenor voice". Paul launched his professional career with a series of very successful concerts, receiving rave reviews. His CD's include "The Legacy" a selection of Moores melodies produced and arranged by David Hayes of Riverdance fame, recorded at the suggestion of Claddagh Records.
Paul and Karen have now brought out three CD's together called "A Taste of Essence", "Spiritual Essence" and their third album, just released is 'Celtic Esence'.

Paul and Karen's performance in Holycross Abbey for our wedding day took my breath away! I wanted the music in the church to be really special but they really exceeded my expectations - they were absolutely magnificent! I even heard afterwards that passers by were drawn onto the back just to hear them. The Harmonies were beautiful and both voices are really powerful. I was so proud as countless people told me it was the most beautiful wedding music they had ever heard. Walking up the aisle to the magical "Nella Fantasia" and back down the aisle with my new Husband to the spectacular "Amigos Para Siempre" is my most treasured memory of our wedding day.

I had the pleasure of hearing Paul and Karen sing at the opening of Fado Restaurant over a year ago and was immediately enchanted by their magnificent voices .At the end of the evening I spoke to them and explained that my daughter Janna was getting married on June 2nd 06 and would they sing at the ceremony. To my great delight they accepted. During the following few months we had many discussions about what they would sing, the type of performance etc,they were always so ready to chat. All I can say that Jannas and Johns wedding ceremony was made so special because of them, each and every guest commented on their singing, and the sight and sound of the two of them walking back down the aisle to "Amigos Para Siempre" will stay withus forever. On the 6th of August in Springfort Hall Hotel in Mallow,Cork. I had booked Essence for a musical tribute.The delivery of their performance was extremely professional,with a warmth that moved the guests and generated a tremendous response with standing ovations.Many people approched me afterwards to make a point of thanking me for bringing such wonderful music to them,I have no hesitation in recommending them to any parish or organisation or private function.Karen and Paul have brought out 2 cd's together called "A Taste Of Essence" and "Spiritual Essence" Thank you again for a night to remember.

I'm a bit biased (Paul is my uncle in law) but Paul & Karen are great. They provide a great service and any bride who books them is extremely lucky!
