Strapless wedding dresses continue to dominate the bridal catwalk for 2012, they flatter most figures and allow freedom of movement and the bride to look and feel elegant.
Mermaid wedding dresses are one of the most popular trends for next year. They are figure-hugging at the bodice, hips and thighs then flair out below the knee giving brides a mermaid-like silhouette. Women with an hour-glass look best in this style.
Ball gowns are also huge (no pun intended) with a fitted bodice, a defined waist and a full skirt. They work well on all figures.
Other designers have also picked up on Vera Wang’s signature feature, of using colourful ribbons around the waist. Satin sashes tied are also huge at the moment as is ribbon crisscrossing at the back of the dress.
