Out of Africa

For those of usused to spending our childhoodholidays down on the farm with grandma and grandpa, maybe its time to explore and embark on the long-haul stockade!

If you fancy something different for your honeymoon destination, want to broaden your horizons and gain a unique perspective on long-haul destinations, then why not check out South Africa?

There are many reasons for taking a luxurious, romantic break to beautiful South Africa; one of them being that it ranks high on the honeymoon hideaway hit list.

You may want to take a Safari through the world famous Kruger National Park, or bask in the rugged shadow of Table Mountain; then again the lure of the white hot sandy beaches of the Indian Ocean might be your thing; either way, the diversity of this land’s magnificent attractions are guaranteed to make your honeymoon one to remember long after it’s over.

Many couples head straight for South Africa’s entertainment playground, Sun City.

Located in the North West Province. This sophisticated resort boasts four hotels, extravagant shows, casinos, a golf course, restaurants, boutiques, sub tropical swimming areas and a gigantic man-made lake. Yep, this is pure fantasy folks where your every whim and desire will be met.

But don’t worry if you’d rather shun the fast paced high life that is Sun City!  The nature loving couples out there can simply take it easy with a trip to the Pilanesburg National Park, where elephant, antelope, leopard and rhino will be delighted to greet you - but, be advised, make sure you visit with a qualified game ranger.

EMERGING NEW CULTURE

However, if it’s a combination of cosmopolitan cultures you’re after, then a holiday along Kenya’s Mombassa coastline is a must.  Revered by anthropologists as ‘the cradle of humanity,’ Kenya itself is a little wild and a little dangerous with promises of unsullied beaches and wildlife parks; and no matter how many ancient Tarzan movies you’ve seen as a kid, nothing prepares you for the wondrous sites of this African adventure.

Mombassa is Kenya’s second largest city, and with an exciting mixture of Arab, European and Asian  cultures, not forgetting an emerging new culture known as Swahili (a language basically of Bantu (African) origin) that is now being promoted throughout the world to include it in the education curriculum for higher institution learning.

Straddling the equator, Kenya is rich in contrasts.  With the Indian Ocean to the South East and Lake Victoria - the second largest fresh water lake in the world - situated to the west, it’s not difficult to see why travellers’ develop a taste for this destination.

Long stretches of white sandy beaches, lapped by crystal clear water which are protected by the coral reef that runs almost the entire length of the coast.

Kenya’s legendary wilderness of Tsavo, the exclusive Kimana game reserve, the rain forests of Mount Kenya, not to mention the stunning savannah of the Masaj Mara and the majestic peak of Mount Kilimanjaro will make this a dream holiday to treasure.

Of course, no dream holiday would be complete without experiencing Kenya’s spectacular hot air ballooning!

Yep, you can soar high above the geographic wonders of the Great Rift Valley!
Imagine having a bird’s eye view as you glide above lakes, volcanoes and forests, witnessing flocks of flamingo as they create an expansive shocking pink carpet across Lake Elmenteita!

Ok, you’ve got to fall out of your King sized leaba very early, but hey, it’s a small price to pay to launch your balloon at dawn, rise from the plains with the sun, and marvel at the unforgettable landscapes and natural elements.
