Chris and Carmel's Wedding by SOSAC Photography

After an engagement lasting 16 months, Carmel and Chris travelled all the way from Houston, Texas to be married on June 18, 2011, in Dublin.

The minute we saw this wedding by Shane O’Sullivan from SOSAC Photography we fell in love! From the chic green and ivory colours, to Carmel’s amazing dress, to the goregeous bridesmaids and flowers - Chris and Carmel's wedding is full of inspiration from beginning to end.

The sun shined for the beautiful couple, so their family and friends, who travelled from far and wide to help make their day special, got to see what a stunning setting Ireland can be for a wedding!

What we love most about Chris and Carmel's big day, is that they not only incorporated many personal touches to make their day unique to them, they also included so much “Irishness" to match their location.

Shane described the pair as a “great couple to work with” and said the urban scenery was the perfect backdrop for the wedding photos - we agree Shane!

Chris and Carmel's Love Story

How we met: I was living in Minneapolis, Minnesota but was in Houston, Texas for an advanced nursing programme. I met Chris the night of my graduation, my last day in Houston, in a night club. We connected immediately! For the next eight months, Chris flew to Minneapolis every couple of weeks to see me! I then decided to make an official move to Houston, and well, the rest, as they say, is history!

The proposal: After a very busy week at work, I was a bit cranky and I came home to Chris cooking an amazing dinner. He casually asked me if I would marry him. I told him I would give him my answer when he was serious. He wandered into the bedroom and suddenly I saw a box poking out from around the door.  He then "seriously" proposed!

Wedding colours: Thyme green and ivory.

Wedding dress: Winnie Couture. It was a satin, ivory, trumpet strapless dress with a sweetheart neckline.

Favourite part of the day: It was all so memorable! We felt so blessed to have so many family members and friends travel so far to celebrate with us! And where better, than the beautiful Emerald Isle!

Advice for other brides: The wedding day flies by so quickly, so enjoy every moment and let others worry about the smaller details. Embrace every second!
