A quick snapshot of Wollie Edel Balfe's hen weekend at Causey Farm and Trim Castle. { Hen ideas }
For my hen weekend we decided to book the Hen Party Package with Trim Castle. Myself and my bridesmaids went for two nights with ten more joining us on the Saturday.
The first night was a girls' night in; chick flicks, cocktails, popcorn, the works. We really thought this would only be for a few hours but it was for the whole night! The lovely staff at Trim Castle brought us popcorn, chocolate and pitchers of cosmos (they were gorgeous but lethal)while we watched Bridget Jones and Sex and the City. After two hours the even brought us pizzas! I was so glad we went for the two nights as I got to spend Friday night with just my bridesmaids, I wasn't too happy the next day with the hangover but it was great!
On the Saturday the rest of the girls arrived and we had lunch in the hotel, after lunch a bus brought us to Causey Farm. I can honestly say I’ve never laughed so much -the whole day was such fun. When we arrived Debbie, one of the fantastic staff members at Causey Farm, taught us the Siege of Ennis, after that we went to milk some cows and bake some bread! After plenty of laughs we were off to the bog where there was a huge obstacle course -me and my sister were destroyed but it was the best craic ever! We went back to the farm then to wash our wellies and clean ourselves up, the staff brought us tea and scones and we learned to play the Bodhr�n.
That evening we had dinner in the hotel, it was gorgeous and again the staff were brilliant. Trotted off down to Lenihans all dresses up in my hen gear and we had a great laugh. We ended the weekend on Sunday morning, the night manager Pat brought us sandwiches at 6am. Talk about service!
