Hottest Bridal Hair for 2012

The hottest, sexiest bridal hair for 2012! From waves, to blowouts, to chignons, to vintage styles, to accessorised updos, to braids and twists - we have a wedding hairstyle to suit every type of bride! Compiled by Amy Croffey.

Vintage Styled Hair

This was one of the hottest looks for 2011 and it’s not going anywhere for 2012. Vintage styled hair has a youthful, yet glamorous appeal, especially when paired with vintage accessories and bold eyes or lips. This style must be paired with a vintage inspired gown or else the effect will get totally lost.

Chignons

We can’t mention bridal hair without talking about the classic chignon. They are as modern as they are timeless and will probably always feature in the wedding world. They can be worn loose or sleek; are perfect for most styles of dresses and can be adorned with accessories - making them very classy and adaptable.

Voluptuous Blowouts

Gorgeous, sexy and elegant are the words that hair stylists are using to describe next season’s big, bouncy blowouts. An elegant hairstyle that doesn’t require too much high-tech tools! It's also the perfect style to add a veil or accessories to.

The Gorgeous Wave

The ‘wave’ will take over 2012 weddings. Loose, relaxed curves in the hair that are effortlessly chic and made to look like the bride created them all by herself. Depending on the hair-type, this style only requires a rough blow dry, mousse, a slight curl with an iron, loads of hairspray and a raking through with hands to create the perfect, tousled look.

Braids and Twists

Braids are huge on bridal catwalks, which means they are slowly but surely making their way into the world of weddings. Pretty plaits or twists that swoop around the head or playfully cascade down the neck ooze femininity.

Accessorised Updos

Creative touches will feature in next season’s most memorable updos. Flowers, bird cages, embellished hair pins, feathers and pearl-adorned knots will be top of the trends.
