Sophie Webb and Stephen Murphy were married on April 27th, 2012 in Johnstown Castle, Co. Wexford with wedding reception afterwards in Horetown House, Foulksmills, Co. Wexford. Their wedding photographer, the very talented Kevin Morris of Kevin Morris Photography LIPPA, captured their pink and purple cake themed wedding!

We met... In college on a night out. A friend said to hug Stephen because he gave really good hugs... and the rest is history.
First impressions of Stephen... A bit scruffy, lots of fun and really good at hugging!
Stephen’s first impressions of you... I thought, “That’s some really long hair, awesome person to be around, she will be mine, oh yes, she will be mine!”
Our proposal... Stephen had planned to propose in the house that we had just bought, telling me there was a surprise there, but I ruined it by sarcastically asking, "you're not going to propose, are you?!" He quickly denied it even though he had the ring in his bag! He eventually asked me six weeks later while we were walking across a soggy field on the way to the bus stop! He'd been carrying the ring with him all of the time since his first attempt!
Our wedding theme... The theme was cake because I had made invitations which said "Please come to our wedding, there will be yummy cake!" I also knew I wanted colourful wedding flowers, so I took inspiration from spring which had lots of pinks and purples, so we used that for our colour scheme.
Our ceremony... We had a very simple civil ceremony. Two of our friends read poems and we lit candles. One of the most memorable bits was when there was a quick fit of the giggles as Stephen made a mistake and accidentally swore so everyone could hear, the whole room burst out laughing!
We chose our venue because… Stephen grew up very close to Johnstown Castle and spent many weekends of his childhood going for walks and picnics with his family there. It's a very special place for him, and of course, it's an absolutely beautiful place! We chose Horetown House because it felt like a family home but they also have a fantastic marquee. The amazing staff made us feel so welcome and they did their utmost to make the day perfect for us.
My dress... It was a very simple one-shouldered satin gown, slightly gathered around the waist with sparkly beaded detail to one side from B Couture Bridal, Arklow.
My favourite part of the wedding... Every single minute of it and seeing my daddy so proud!
My advice for other brides... Remember to have fun on the day and enjoy the results of your hard work and preparation. Don't fret if everything doesn't go to plan, chances are the guests won't even notice!
Our honeymoon... We did six weeks of backpacking through China, Japan and India. Then we finished off with a relaxing week in Thailand. (I'm writing this in Japan!)
