Have been to both, prefer the resorts in Dominican republic, but there's more to do outside the resorts in Mexico, both are fabulous though

I was looking into Dominican Rep aswel purely because it fits into our budget a lot better! Is there not much to do there? Jamaica looks lovely, anyone any feedback on that? it seems to be more expensive but there could be more to do?

We loved the Dominican Republic we stayed 10 nights and hated having to come back in saying that the food in the hotel was not great but them we ate out most nights in the village next door.We loved the people so friendly the food was great we did 3 trips while we were there and would recommend them.It is one of the island that i would love to go back to.

have not been to Jamica but it is on my list would love to go to Negril and stay on the cliffs. The one thing i would not do again is all insluive for us it is a waste as i love to move out and see things and meet people and the all insluive i could be in spain as you see nothing.

Am going to mexico in Sep so can give the detail when we come back not going all insluive.if you are intrested in any of the other island let me know we have been to cuba, barbados, aruba,St Lucia, but the dominican is the cheepest island that we have been to and Aruba is the most expensive.

I think it is the fact that it is not as well know as the likes of Barbados and that. Also it is a much pooer island than the rest. From all the island it is our favoirt that we have been on

Hi Jennifer,

What resort in DR are you looking at? We've been to both DR and Mexico and they were completely different holidays so depends what you are after. We felt DR had a more Honeymoon feel (totally laid back, beautiful surroundings, amazing restaurants & mostly couples) whereas Mexico in fairness has something for everyone, plenty to see & do but possibly not as romantic / picturesque as DR.

Let me know if you've any questions about either I'd be happy to help if I can :wv

Hi,

H2B and I spent 2 weeks in DR last year. We stayed at Dreams La Romana which can only be described as AMAZING, the food was great and an amazing choice each night. The service was second to none and the luxury and activities could not be beaten! We met with other couples at the airport who had gone to punta cana and hated it.

I would recommend doing day excursions.
