Car Hire

Any recommendations on hiring a car? The few vendors that I contacted were quite expensive (350 euro for 1 car). Are 2 cars needed? Any info on what everyone else is doing/using would be much appreciated. Thanks!

If you don't have a really big bridal party and wanted to cut costs why not hire a stretch limo - it would seat about 9 people and then you could all have a great laugh on the way to the hotel (unless you and your new hubbie want some peace before the reception?) :)

Hi jwhiston,

I am also in NY organising wedding, and not easy!!!
I would be gretaful if you would post some contact No's for Car hire as I got some quotes also but mine were up on E500 Which no way am I going to get.
The suggestion of the Limo is great and No's would be greatly appreciated

We hired a high spec car Merc through Avis and found a willing friend to do the driving, the car cost us €160.

You can get a limo from Bond wedding cars. I think it holds 8 people and it costs approx 400 euro. They will do 2 collections (if they have time before the church, ie collect groom, bestman and groomsmen drop them to church, go collect bride and whoever is giving her away and bridesmaids and drop them to the church then take all of the above to the reception), maybe somewhere does them cheaper but if you want to ring Bond just to check it out their number is Tel: 00353 (0)1 8255918, email is [email protected] and their website is www.bondweddingcars.com

limkbride - I got my car hire quotes from vendors listed on www.irishweddingsonline.com. There are loads of wedding vendors listed on the site.

I am using Bond Cars and they are very reasonable and very helpful.

I am having the rolls royce for myself and the limo for the lads as a surprise!

We were originally trying to save a few pennies on the car and had planned to get two Merc for €500, but I was advised that you are best to go for one exclusive car then two average cars. The reason put forward was that a photographer will spend a good half an hour with a exclusive car and you will have wonderful photos. The second car could be a loan off a family member or friend as no-one really notices.

We through caution to the wind and got a beauford and Merc in the end for €800, one of our weaker moments!!!!
