Honeymoon- Trailfinders or Ebookers?

Postby notashotgun » Mon Jun 20, 2022 3:59 pm

Girls,

trying to decide who to book the honeymoon with- going to South America, want to do Inca Trail, spend a few night in Rio etc. Has anyone going on this type ie longhaul with a bit of adventure thrown in got a recommendation? I think it comes down to Trailfinders and Ebookers but I will take any recommendations.
Also anyone been to South American or know which of these agencies (or any other agency is best on this?)

Thanks a mil

trailfinders are better value for longhaul and many of their staff have travelled all over the world, so are armed with experience.

I voted for Trailfinders, even though I've booked with Ebookers. There have been lots of very good reveiws on Trailfinders.

Ebookers were fine, except for one detail. I asked them to book a specific hotel for 3 nights for us, mid honeymoon, and they told me there was plenty of time to book it, and that the prices hadn't come through for it. I went on line and booked it directly myself as when I looked, the rooms we wanted were fast being booked out. (It's the Sheraton on the Falls and we wanted a Falls View room). Despite having requested the hotel room, they never once made an effort to book it for us, and right up to the day that I paid the balance, they never mentioned it. So, basically it would have been tough if we weren't able to book it ourselves.

Also, I didn't feel that they treated us as a honeymoon couple, and they never mentioned the fact that guests can buy you vouchers towards your honeymoon......not that we'd have been interested.

I also would have thought that when I collected my tickets that they could have given a few maps or brochures or something? But they didn't. I sort of missed that as we've gotten them with other holidays.

Trailfinders won. They were so easy to deal with. We got fantastic advice from them and their reps do travel to nearly all the destination they advertise. The guy we talked to had been to both our locations and gave us pretty detailed descriptions of what to expect. In fact so much so, that I went in the other day to pay our balance,I only had to mention our destination and hotel and the guy I spoke to knew immediately who we had dealt with !!! He also gave us great travel tips and as I hadn't ever done long haul and adivsed us on the least difficult way of getting where we wanted to go.

Actually my H2B did the Inca trail trip 2 days after I first met him. He booked with Traifinders and said they were pretty good.

Hi,

Well I would have to disagree, I could not reccommend ebookers enough. I have booked my honeymoon with them and found there standard of service to be of great quality. The agent that im dealing with (Paul) has excellent knowledge of South America and has given us great information on it.

Our Honeymoon is going to be for 3 weeks around S. America taking in the following places;
Rio, Inla Grende(a fantastic island),Lima ( Where we will be doing the Inca Trail for 4 days), Cuzco and then to Lake Titicaca.
I hope this gives you an idea.......

Hi Girls,

I had recently looked into trailfinders and was very dissappointed with the service i received, I was looking for a longhaul trip for myself and my husband to be, taking in a wide range of places.
My husband is a freequent flyer so therefore he wanted to know how many miles he would earn etc. The agent that I received did not really want to accommodate me. While looking for my flights etc, he ran through it so quick that i had lost track of what he had said. I had to ask him to write the prices on a sheet of paper and he scribbled them down so quick that i could hardly read them.
I then decided to take a trip to ebookers and was delighted with their service, it was a relief. They where so accommodating and where also able to give me extra information on my trip.

I would definately suggest ebookers.

:D

Hi Tried them both when we were organising Thailand for our honeymoon.
We ended up booking flights only through Apex and did the hotel and tour
stuff oursevles on the Internet. Worked out way cheaper than both of
them. Do your homework on both and then compare it with the internet.
