Hi girls,
In relation to the music for the wedding i would really like to have an input into this as i really like music, my h2b likes music also but is of the attitude just to leave it to the band as they will know better what suits everyone, but i want the day to be personal to us and not just your bogstandard selection of music, his attitude is surprising me as he is well into music too, my parents are paying for the band and he also nearly freaked out when they were trrying to have an input into what was being played ( they have good taste and most of what they would like i would also be into and so would most of my side of the family) i had to tell my parents to back down even though they werent being pushy they were just suggesting stuff, so this resultd in a bit of bad feeling at the time between us, anytime i have suggested it since he has madde his feelings clear , we can't seem to compromise on this at all, i know we have to play the majority of the musci to suit the crowd but what are ye doing please answer this poll??

We got a playlist from the band and marked out the songs we preferred they didn't play and also chose 3 songs each that we definatly wanted played. They suggested to us that our "do not play" list had a lot of floor fillers so we gave them the instruction that they were only to be played as a last resort :wink: In the end they played 2 of them to get the older crowd up.

As part of our RSVP we are asking our guests which 2 songs they would love to hear. From this we will compile a play list and if the band / dj can't play them it will at least give them a good idea of what people like.

I have discussed this with both the band and the dj and both were absolutely fine with it.

The band I've picked has played at lots of weddings, so I'm leaving it in their capable hands as I've better things to be worrying about.

My only stipulation has been that they're not permitted to play any Sting/Police or Bryan Adams stuff. It would turn my stomach as that's the sort of music we used to play when I was in a band with my ex.

might have a quick chat with the band and dj but going to leave it to them. Just in case the dancefloor is empty they will know what to do. My friend picked every single song that the band and dj played... she said it was a complete waste of time as nobody would have known any different!!! :D
