It will be Christmas time so it should not be too hardt ochoose.

Glan - are there specific Christmas favours you can get? Have you seen any nice ones? Our wedding is around Christmas but I can't make up my mind about favours.

We wre going to have some personalised biscuits, but have decided we would have scratch cards, thought they might be a bit of an ice breaker.

We were not going to have them, extra cost, extra hassle (will only be in country for two weeks before wedding!!) etc but one of the aussie brides suggested Caramello Koalas and we loved the ieda, no wrapping etc required, can buy in boxes and bring over easily, nice aussie touch as well as giving everyone something to have with their tea!!

We're donating money to the Irish Heart Foundation and the Irish Cancer Society instead of favors as both charities mean a lot to us.

We'll prob just put a card on each plate saying "In lieu of favours we've made a donation..... "

I'm not trying to start a row, but do you not think that giving to charity should be a private thing, You dont really need an excuse not to have favours, so why advertise the fact that your making a donation to charity.

Just make the donation and dont have favours, but then as is often said on WOL, YOUR WEDDING YOUR CHOICE.

just my opinion

We were having favours, we were not, then we were again. My h2b thought they were a waste of money, and reckoned I wud be upset if I saw then thrown on the ground at the end of nite! But as it turns out I saw some lovely sweets on the www.confettii.co.uk website. They are table trivia - It was £14.99 for a bag of 100. I am putting one on each place small little ivory & gold sweet with a little wedding trivia question on each one, something just to break the ice !!
Another thing we are doing is because there are no speeches we are putting our thoughts & thanks onto sheets of paper and making them into little scrolls !!

hi fairy

HOPE THIS WORKS:

http://www.confetti.co.uk/shopping/news ... 68&Start=6

if not go to the shopping section, then table decorations, and you should see table trivia if all else fails try putting table trivia into the first white search box (that is specifically for the shop)

hope that helps !!

we're having a lily o brien's personalized chocolate box. i was searching and thinking for ages about having a "unique" favour, but it was impossible for me to think of anything unique enough yet cost-effective enough. i came to the conclusion that something consumable was best (sweets, candles, etc.)

are putting disposable cameras on the tables. (1 or 2 per table.)

We are going to have lotto tickets aswell. Im sure when we buy them the person behind the counter is going to be sooo happy to do 80 seperate lotto tickets. But we will let everyone know that if the jackpot is one of the tickets then we will have a 25% share as it was us that purchased it!!! only kidding
