FAVOURS
HI GIRLS, JUST A QUICKIE ARE YOU ALL DOING WEDDING FAVOURS? WERE HAVING DISPOSABLE CAMERA'S ON THE TABLES AS WELL, JUST WONDERING IF YOU ARE HAVING FAVOURS AND IF SO WHAT ARE YOU HAVING
Skipadee do dah Skipadee day.
I AM THE EGGMAN, I AM THE WALRUS I WISH I WAS A PUNKROCKER WITH FLOWERS IN MY HAIR Changed Under Order of the Management
We did do favours (old fashioned boiled sweeties for the boys; silver heart charms on ribbon for the girls - supposed to be bookmarks but I did see them also being worn as bracelets and chokers ) and it didn't cost a lot of money. I'm really glad we did it as it looked pretty and lots of people commented on the attention to detail etc - but if we'd been going over budget, they would have been one of the first things to go!
favors
hi,
we have decided not to have favors. just think they are gimicky. my future sil had the disposable cameras on every table and only got about one or two good shots from them. for the time and money spent on them she felt afterwards that they were not worth it. i don't think too many people notice weather they are there or not.
Not 100% sure what we are having yet. It will be Christmas time so it should not be too hardt ochoose. I know at the end of the night I would hate to see them left on the tables - what a waste of money!!!!!! My mom was at a wedding recently & the people has breast cancer badges for the ladies & some other charity wrist band for the men. Good idea - at least the money is going to a good cause.
I wasn't going to bother, I just think its another expense that I can do without. After years in the Hotel business I must say they are usually just left on the table anyway. Turns out my aunt wanted to do them as a gift to us so I ended up with them anyway. Still voted no though.

We're donating money to the Irish Heart Foundation and the Irish Cancer Society instead of favors as both charities mean a lot to us.
We'll prob just put a card on each plate saying "In lieu of favours we've made a donation..... " My brother can make these cards for us so we'll be able to give all we can to charity and not waste it on printing. At a wedding last year a friend had preserved green apples in wax and made the apples into candles - don't know how she did it - they looked fab but most were left behind after all her hard work! After that I vowed not to bother with favors.
