i'm having my god son as pageboy, he will be 5 and his 2 sisters, who will be 4 & 8 at the time, it's looking likely that i might have a 3rd flowergirl (8) but i'm not sure about it yet. haven't told any of the kids yet, they'l get told a week or 2 before the wedding!!

We had two Flower girls, my two nieces aged 3 and 1 and if you remember my posts before the wedding I was totally DREADING it, but on the day they WERE two little Angels O:o) they walked up the isle (holding my CBM hand their mum) and for the whole hour in the church we never heard a word... :o)ll

and I have to say the photo's look sooooo cute with them in it!

My Opinion

Postby momentsvideos » Tue Jun 28, 2022 10:16 am

I have seen many weddings with flower girls and pages boys, and I've seen some where there were no kids at all.

I like when there are kids at the wedding as it will be great for them to see themselves on the DVD in years to come when they are older.

If the kids are well behaved and their parents supervise them, then I think it is great to have kids there.

However, in some situations, the kids will run riot during the ceremony and during the speeches, and this can be very distressing for the couple. Sometimes the kids can be running up onto the alter during the vows, running up and down the room screaming during the speeches etc. Kids will be kids, I have a two year old daughter myself, but sometimes I think if the kids are getting bored and need distraction, the parents should take them outside for a little break. Then everybody is happy.

I am having my 2 sisters as BM

The girls are aged from 4-10 so I don't have any worries really on them misbehaving....

We had our son who looked gorgeous in a black tux and gold waistcoat and Cravat just like his daddy. We also, had one FG, my son was meant to walk up with FG in front of me but at the door of church refused. So he walked behind me and stepped on my veil 3 times. He did spoil the moment.

So be careful everyone don't let this happen to you!! :o

We are having my godson who will be 4 almost 5. We are also having my h2b's niece (yet to see her) she will be almost 2.(her mammy is one of my bridesmaids)

we are debating whether to have another 2 of each. if we do (considering it at the moment) they would be 6,5 for the girls and the boys would be the same.
Am I nuts?

We are having one fg (2) and one pb (3). They are our godchildren. It should be interesting, considering flowergirl is groomsmans daughter and pageboy is bridesmaids son. I can forsee lots of shouts for mammy and daddy at the top of the church.

we're having 2 flowergirls. quite simply, we don't have any boys / nephews that we know. so we're having his goddaughter and my niece. there's only a month between them and they'll both be 3. my sister is CBM so there'll be no problem with my niece and H2B's niece is so good that there shouldn't be any problem.

plus, a little bit of bribary never helps!

No way am I having either. I was asked and declined politely. I was also told that they would be so excited that 'it will be impossible to keep them from running up the aisle ahead of you' and I declined (a little less politely)!!
I am mad about nieces and nephews but think they will be far happier running riot at the hotel etc rather than trying to force them to pose in awkward gowns & pageboy outfits.

We didn't have any..I briefly thought about asking my 2.5year old cousin to be FG...shes a dote but her favourite word at the moment is bol**x...so I changed my mind on that one

We had a child free wedding and we have no regrets.

Not having any as too many in family to choose from. Going to find other little jobs for them like handing out mass booklets or the elder ones can do responses etc...... would HATE  to have them running around the church, screaming etc... especially after paying video guy fortune & all you hear is crying child etc... sorry if I offend anyone with kids!!

Well we couldn't not include h2b's daughter and make her a flowergirl.
She'll be happy once she has a Barbie Dress and apparently she's told everyone that the wedding will be her barbie wedding

Anyhow, that's the only child we'll be having at the wedding and we'll arrange a sitter for her after the meal. She'll be 7 by the time we get married so I'm not too stressed about her misbehaving. I'd say I'll have to worry more about some of the adults than her.
