I'm not involved in the church side of our wedding and was looking at our order of service that H2B did last night.

It says "will you X take X as your husband" and then we say "I will".

Sounds silly but I really wanted to say "I do" :(

H2B says you never say "I do" but I'm sure you do. His Dad's the Reverend so I assume he knows best.
Does your religion have anything to do with it? We're CofI.

instead of saying

will you x take x...........etc

say

Do you x take x etc

then ur answer is I DO :lol: :lol:

Does it matter, I do, I will, it's all the same at the end of the day you'll end up married anyhoo.. just ask to change it if you don't like it.

I dont think its that simple. Its up to the Reverend surely? Our service is coming straight from the book of common prayer. I dont think you can just change it, can you?

I am not sure bout THAT particular case but I do know from speaking to the priest we can have will or do
again not sure bout that case, ask would be my thought.

I'm sure if you just say "I do" he won't stop the ceremony and call you up on it!! Try it at the rehearsal and see if he says anything... ?

We're coi too and saying I will. To be honest any wedding I've been at (either religeon) I think it's always been I will.

But check with H2Bs dad - he'll give you a fair and honest answer.

we're saying I do. I dont know about CoI , but I'm RC and H2B CoE getting married in RC church, by RC priest, we can say either, I would just ask,RC have, http://www.catholicireland.net/gettingmarried/ceremony/vowstext.htm
