In my family babys are the only thing my mother talks about. She is just dieing for one. All i get from everyone is how i have to give her a baby and so are you going to have a honeymoon baby. This has been going on for a while now, even before we got engaged.

I'm just not ready for one yet, i know how much responsibility they are and i'll be doing for us not everyone else.

I wish they'd give it a rest for a while.

You should say something along those lines the next time someone says something to you about babies. You'd be the best judge as to how to put it. Maybe they don't realise how much pressure they're putting you under.

Then again, maybe they do.......

Oh girls - yez are only being started on.
We have a daughter who is nearly three.... we got married last April. Now its when is she going to have a brother or a sister... and telling Roisin that she must want to be a big sister... (which she does as there are lots of new additions to our family recently) but in fairness she is three, she would be just as happy with a rabbit or goldfish :lol: :lol:

Now I am actually pregnant (honeymoon baby!) and have just started telling people. They say congrats then ask me how many children I am going to have?????!!!! I have one, another please God on the way and still they are flipping pestering me to see how big my family will be!!!

I just say we are so lucky to have got this far and are very happy.

GIVE ME A BREAK!!! :twisted:

If its not when are you buying your house,its whens the engagement,whens the BIG DAY,when are you starting a family,whens the next one,and the next and the next........

My MIL told me that she bought some "baby keepsake" book for us when we got engaged. I've told her to keep it but it has still upset me a little! I think it's pretty presumptious that we'll have kids, especially as we don't know if we can. Besides, since I came back to work I can't imagine being without my nice pay cheque. Does anyone else believe in not buying the crib until you have the baby and all those traditions?

Thats great news I hope all is going well for you !

CorkMay05 - I agree I would not like to be buying anything until maybe a month before the baby is due and even then I would keep cot and pram in the inlaws place. I agree not everyone knows if they can have children until they start to try so parents really should know better !

Our weddings not for another four months and already our friends and some family members are taking bets as to when we'll be pushing a pram about! Keep telling all that we'll be waiting a couple of years to put them off! We aren't going to rush into anything but if it were to happen sooner then neither of us would mind......

I agreed with MRS05 in relation to when are you getting house, engaged, married etc.... I'm surprised people don't ask you expected life expectancy once the kids arrive !! :roll: :lol:

I've only just started recovering from a serious stomach issue (where everyone has presumed I'm preggers and have even askeed me when I am due?) and it is the one thing designed to get my goat up when people ask or mention it. H2B and I are just starting to enjoy our sex life again after a very bumpy 3 years. The thought of having kids in the next year would scare me and yes, I am of the age when the clock should tick for everyone around me to hear. Surprisingly my own mum agrees with me on this one as she waited till she was 38 to have me her first of 3. I also have health difficulties which may make a full term pregnancy impossible. It's personal choice between partners and should be endorsed or disapproved by no one else.
