If you are only 21 then I really would say wait till you're a bit older and more mature.
What's the rush?

I'm sorry but this is a really silly question to be completely honest. There wouldn't be a need for epidurals if it wasn't sore.....

Surely, even if you are scared of the pain, the longterm gain from it would far outweigh any nervousness. Also if you plan ahead, you could have a birthplan put together that says you want as much pain relief medication as is possible when the time arises.

It's not something I would put off because of nervousness though.

No, I don't think you're a troll Ann Marie, however, I think you might be a wee bit immature. I don't mean that in an offensive way, just that you're very young.......

I am pg at the moment and while I am terrified of the whole birth thing, I have the common sense to realise that there are drugs (which I fully intend to use  ) to help me through it. And if not, I'll be in pain for a while, but I'll soon forget it. Pain is only a sensory response... (thats my story and I'm sticking to it!)

Don't let a thread like this be a basis for your decisions. You will know when it's right.........

I also think this is a very strange poll. Its ridiculous to start saying that annemarie is a TROLL  the girl is so young and wants to ask questions but they seem to come out the wrong way, theres no real harm is there....
I dont have children and hopefully if we are blessed we plan to start our family next year. But ive read and heard that no pregnancy or labour is the same,by no means im saying that its not painful. My friend explained it to me her experience its like a really really bad period pain..The beautiful baby you created makes it all worth while.
Some people resort to drugs, drugs, drugs but id have to read up properly about it as id be terrified they would harm the baby.

I dont think Annemarie is intentionally trolling. I think she is very young (and very excited). Honestly Annemarie, stop worrying about babies, sister-in-laws, mother-in-laws wearing white etc. Try to relax. Youll look back someday and regret that you worried and fretted so much about so many inconsequential things.

These kind of posts are just so inane and silly. Ignore them and they might go away.

sorry annmarie, we don't mean to be nasty, but you have to admit, that was a pretty childish question!! you do sometimes sound VERY young, and we're all just a bit suspicious...i wouldn't even expect a 13 yuear old to have to ask that question....but if you are for real, then my advice would be to definitely wait! If your main concern is the pain of the actual birth, then perhaps you really aren't ready for motherhood just yet...

While I don't think Annmarie is a troll, by god some of the postings make me want to shake her HARD.

Annmarie, I realise you are excited to bits about getting married, but you have over two years to go and you really need to think before you post. Of course childbirth is going to hurt - doesn't period pain or getting a leg wax? However pain relief is available in labour, and if it was that unbearable, there'd only ever be 1 child per couple.

Can I make one more point - please don't use exclamation marks as punctuation as it drives me absolutely batty. Concentrate on your phrasing and puntuation and you might find that people will be more inclined to take your postings seriously

To be honest annmarie, your posts seem to be completely swamping the forums, and I'm finding it irritating, as well as the complete overuse of exclamation marks. The wedding is not for another 2 years, I dread to think what the posts will be like if you continue at the rate you're going
