We used Brian Redmond from Roscrea, and he was fantastic - very helpful beforehand; very calm and unobtrusive on the day; and the photographs are wonderful. We picked them last week and ended up with a bigger package (so also more expensive!) but they are really wonderful, a mixture of formal photos in colour and candids in Black & White.

He's at the upper range of the poll scale - it's a lot of money but we're very very pleased.

heya cath, was also wondering who you are using ?

that's by far the cheapest i've heard of for photo's. we were quoted 1,200 which i thought was scandalous.

maybe you could pm me with your photographers details cath, it would be much appreciated. thanks

Hi,

We are using Ger McCarthy from Cork, he's E1200 and we aren't getting an album (only have to lug it back to Perth!) but we're getting the proofs, some photos blown up and a CD of all the photos taken on the day so we can go and do re-prints in Australia.

He's very reasonably priced and has a fantastic style.

could you also please let me know who you're having too? When I told h2b that it was €1000 for the photographer we were thinking of having he blew a major hissy fit!! :?
€750 is very reasonable!!

Were having Simon Devir and he is costing 1,800. Thats for the house, the church, the hotel, the speeches, the first couple of dances! Its mainly reportage and we get 60 photos in the album and all pictures taken on the day on disc except the ones he takes without the digital camera. My sister had him for her wedding in June and he was sooooo lovely, so professional and you wouldn't have even known he was there! The photos also turned out amazing. I think he is relatively new to the market but I know he is going to be big! :lol:

We're paying 750 for coverage from early morning to the after party, all shots printed (circa 700) in 7"x5" , a CD and an album of our fave 40 printed larger. We're familiar with the photographers work and we like it as he is excellent and unobtrusive, mainly though I just couldn't justify the ridiculous amounts that some photographers were asking for half the product.

we are using Finbar O'Donoghue from Cavan seems some of his stuff at a wedding fair in the Cavan Crystal Hotel was very impressed it is costing €1300 :) :)

Were having Bliss Photography and its costing about €1300, think it's reaonable enough and have seen his work and we were both extremely happy with him. Declan was so helpful, even called out to our house to show us all the different types of albums he does and answered any questions/queries we had :lol: :lol:

we went with Paul Kelly cause we just love his relaxed style and he was so easy to talk to about what we wanted. Paying too much, but its the only thing left after the wedding to remember the day by so its worth it!! :D

I am getting Charlie McGeever aswell, he is fantatstic but pricey - €2,500 but worth it as we will not have to pose all day for photos. Just compiled a list last night of the estimated costs for everything and nearly had a heart attack. Don't know what i have got myself into - i will be broke forever more!!!!

We're paying €1150 for all the proofs plus our album and a CD album also.
We are getting married in August 2006. Our photographer is Gerry Costello in Galway. It was the best value we were getting. We were quoted form €700 to €2900. Now the high figure was only giving us an album with 30 photos while the €700 was a bit if'fy and the quality did not look good.
