Was talking about this with my sis when she got back from the honeymoon. Thought it might not be as much of a big deal with couples like them who've been living together years but she was of the 'of course it's our wedding night' group.
She did the get drunk with friends bit too though!

She'll soooo kill me if she reads this! Haha!

Anyone Ive spoke to has said that by the time you get to bed - maybe 4 or 5am - you are so tired that its the last thing on your mind!! Id say this might be me! I suppose you cant plan for it, if it happens it happens! I think the next night in the hotel on our own is when the fireworks will commence!!!

well, we have a certain advantage that we're not getting married in a hotel nor is there a resident's bar. We're going to have to leave at about 1.30am and we're hoping to either stay in the shelbourne/merrion, so we have to leave together and we won't be getting hammered in the residents bar with guests. planning on having a lovely bottle of champers and a couple of sambos in the room waiting for us, having a great natter and then maybe, just maybe....finally celebrate been newlyweds after 8 years together!!

Not everything goes according to plan.On our wedding night hubbie was quite jarred and exhausted,he fell asleep while i was trying to get out of my dress and crying at the same time.I was so full of emotion taken my dress of as i will never wear it again and the day was over.....i wasnt drunk by any means and slipped on a bottle of bubbly at the same time.

(also taking my hair down with the billion clips took about half an hour)

It didnt go quite to plan for us either. Hubby was quite drunk :hic and when we went up we ordered loads of ham sambos, he got stripped and lay on the bed in his undies while i went out too the door to get the sambos from the waiter and when i went back into the bedroom he was fast asleep, so i knocked on my BMs' door, who had bunked 6 friends into the room  and they all came into our room and we had a ham sambo party at 5 in the morning while hubby slept like a baby. But i made sure i got him the next morning
