The Bridehood of the Travelling Lanterns

The Bridehood of the Travelling Lanterns

Postby Sprocket » Tue Jan 11, 2022 12:17 pm

There was a thread started about mini lanterns in Old Faithful and passing them on.
Olbol and I thought it would be a good idea to start up a "The Bridehood of the travelling lanterns" thread. (as opposed to "sisterhood of the travelling pants!)

I have 24 white mini lanterns that I am using in my wedding in March 2011. I am using them as pew ends.

The come with little stands so that you can also use them as centre pieces instead of pew ends if wanted.

There are lots of girls that have expressed interest in using them after I'm done so I've started a list of people that want them.

I am passing the lanterns to Yvonne9 for her wedding in May 2011. She will in turn contact the next person in the list to pass them on to her and that gets repeated down the list.
It is up to each "owner" and "buyer" to arrange how to pass them on and how much to pay for them.
They cost me (the original owner) €60
That okay with everyone?

If you want to add yourself to the list, please copy the list of names below and insert your name in the correct place. It is in order of month of wedding. Then re-post the list (with your name added) as your reply to the thread.
Where there have been requests from two brides in the same month I have put their requests in order of receiving them in order to be fair. Please make sure you don't accidentally jump the queue.

Awesome work Future MrsP!! :o)ll

Just wondering what the contingency plan is if some get lost/broken/damaged along their journey!? :-8

We will need to start getting location details too so that we can make sure to get the little guys to their next Big Day!!

I guess people will just have to be careful?

As for locations, I reckon we leave that up to the two relevant brides, I'm sure no-one else wants to get bogged down in all those details :)

Could I trouble everyone who uses them to post a picture of how they used them after their wedding day? I'm mad about wedding pictures and this is too good of an opportunity not to.

Why not!

LittleLily, if you like wedding photos, you'll love this blog. I found it randomly on a google search one day and now I love having a nose at other people's wedding photos for ideas.

Ladies, what a fab idea! As a bridal blogger, I'm totally impressed. As a recessionista bride, I want to know if I can get in on the act :)
Srian I see you're in November 2011 - my wedding is late November, (26) could we possibly share November?

Hi ladies - great idea - love it.
I wonder if I can help with this part. I have 30 similar lanterns. Pretty much identical except mine don't have stands and are silver rather than white. (Mine are the ones from Penneys and I paid €50 for them in total). I'm using them on June 4th 2011.

After that - I'm willing to start up a second set of travelling lanterns or alternatively to donate them to the 'bridehood' so that as breakages occur there would be backups.

If anyone thinks there would be demand for a second list, or if you ladies would just like to add them to the pot - let me know.

I love to see things being re-used and recycled so love this thread.
