Got my dress sorted at the weekend!! So so excited :lvs :lvs although I am kinda scared cos of the amount of money that it costs and committing to spending that amount is a bit :eek but am just remembering the feeling when I put on it and focusing on that!
Had 3 appointments made and found it in the second shop (De Stafford’s) and cancelled the last appointment. Also picked up our wedding rings so getting all organised.
Haven’t a clue about all the paperwork for the legal side and church side so want to get that sorted next, along with the premarriage course and papal blessing.
The BM dresses I had picked don’t match my dress so back to the drawing board for that now!

One of the three dress's i love is from de staffords. So now ive found three i love think im going to stop shopping and just go back and try the three again and choose from one of them...think if i keep looking ill find one i love in every shop!

Wow you have 3 you love? I only had one that I loved so I guess it makes it easier for me!! What designer’s are the ones you are looking at? Mine is a pronovias and is fab but I nearly had a heart attack at the prices!

One was pronovias, one is TM Couture and one is Essense...maybe shop around for your pronovia's dress the mark up in some of the big bridal shops can be quite significant

Ya have been ringing around bridal shops all morning to see but the cheapest I have found is less than €200 less but have found a few places which are more expensive!! It is up the north so probably not worth me travelling the extra distance (am from the country to it’s about 120km to Dublin) and then any change in the exchange rate between now and when I collect the dress could wipe out any savings. So looks like I will be sticking with De Staffords. Would love to be brave enough to order it off a website like RK Bridal but don’t think I am brave enough!

Loved the Essence dresses aswell!

Hi girls,
this is my first post on the MAY 2012 thread! :wv

We are getting married in Italy next May 17th. Everyone keeps telling me I'm flying at the organisation but is there such a thing as being "too" organised?

i picked my dress in the first shop. Its a Pronovias dress too and i absolutely adore it! And ive seen BM dresses I would love and going to get one so they can all try it this weekend! Obviously have the venue booked cos its in Italy. and my hair, the celebrant, band and photographer and videographer.

Thats the big things out of the way so I can enjoy a summer off now! Think I quite like being "too" organised! :o0

Ya everyone is slagging me for being so organised aswell! I collected my wedding rings on Saturday!
My pronovias is the xxx, its fab. Just loved it. Haven’t bit the bullet and ordered it yet but will be ringing it in today or tomorrow – am just afraid that as soon as I order it, I will find it somewhere cheaper!! What about you??

Gorgeous! I tried that one on but it didnt suit me. Fab though!

Mine is the Pronovias Alcala, the bridal shop have put it aside for me. Paying the deposit tomorrow! :o)ll I love it so much. tried it last week and then again friday just gone. :)

I called a few places to see if I could get it cheaper but turns out I'm getting quite a deal. I'm buying the sample so am saving €900, delighted as one place i rang would only take €400 off the sample. Where are you based? Might be worth trying the shop I'm getting mine in? She's only open since March so is doing great prices to spread the word of her shop. Plus, the sample is perfect cos she's only open a short time.

Wow! That is brilliant. I would travel anywhere if I could get a bargain! If you want to PM me the shop that would be great?? I have rang a good few of the well known shops to check out the prices but would really appreciate if you send me the name of that one! I would definitely buy a sample or a preowned one but unfortunately none to be found!

Sorted my invites today, so big excitement! My mum is an excellent card maker so she is making them, we spent hours today going through papers and ribbons and eventually put a sample together and I'm delighted with them :)

Every little thing I get sorted makes it all seem closer and more real! :o)ll

Aw girls all the talk of wedding dresses has me so jealous :o( cant wait to be able to go dress shopping!

Iv ordered my bridesmaids dresses, cant wait for them to arrive :o)ll fingers crossed they will fit the bm's and they will like them!! We booked the florist, i :lvs getting things outa the way. And after weeks of band searching we finally decided on a band, we are booking them now, its good to have a few things ticked off my list! :compress

Just reading over all your posts! Was so excited ordering my dress , its a pronovias too, seems like theres loads of us!

Just a note for the Destaffords brides, they offered me €200 off & a free veil of my choice without asking!

have any of you looked at flowers yet? Any good deals?

theyre really the only thing I havent sorted obviously excluding the lads! Bridesmaids are picked, will order in September :)
