a4d2012 if they won't back down on minimum numbers i would tell them you want the equivalent in drinks or something? Especially if you're having wine with dinner. A half bottle of wine per person would be 15 bottles of wine you'll be paying for that won't be given out ya know that way? Morningsun not going with the piano player at all now, H2B thinks it's a waste of money. I'd say most of the guests will be watching the commentary before the rugby anyway. The hotel are working on getting us permission for the photos so watch this space

Suppliers not replying is doing my head in!!! Sent emails in the last day or two to check final details with our hotel, band, hairdresser and MUA and haven't back from any of them and now its the long weekend and then it will only be two days until our wedding! Freaking out! think i'm just going to have to try phone them tomorrow, weekend or not or else I won't sleep a wink.

Finally got my mass booklets donee and the house painted, gonna put the feet up for the weekend (and maybe have a sneaky cigarette )
Hey a4d2012, that is so annoying. I hope you get somewhere with the hotel its a bit unfair expecting you to pay for 30 people for nothing!!! Hopefully they'll throw in a champagne toast or something instead. Good luck.

hope your hotel did something for you a4d, the high level of declines is across the board, it's so annoying. the communions one is particularly annoying as i would always chose a wedding over a communion but maybe that just me and if I had nieces and nephews it would be a different story...

Thanks for the ideas ladies, i havent heard back from hotel yet but heading down there later to hand over 85% of the cost to them so will try barter before i hand it over! morningsun wrote:a4d2012 wrote:God its mad how small all our tickers are..... To be honest I have nieces and nephews and i still would go to a wedding over the communion if it was a close firend or family but ive come to the conclusion- their loss!!! I was actually more disgusted with two of oh's friends who were at the stag but have declined invite to the wedding, one providing no reason, the other providing a pathetic one that we know is a lie... who goes to a stag and then not the wedding??? I wouldnt mind if they had gone to the stag because they couldnt go to wedding but they never mentioned not being able to go to wedding until we had to chase them for rsvps... know oh is disappointed but he wont let on! Also good luck to Bride2012, have a fab day x

I must say I do agree with him! are you delaying your meal until after the rugby? we are. are you happy with the final number ginger?? do you have minimum numbers? we are 3 short on our minimum and not sure if we have to pay for them but at this stage I don't care, its only 3 and could be worse! for the blokes bathroom baskets I have deodarant, few aftershaves (mini ones OH had), hair gel, lint roller and fresh breath spray. just put them in a small basket so it looks more full hope you are having an amazing day Bride 2012!!

I have the same as morningsun in our mens basket and i also have baby wipes (no idea why really) and a packet of plasters, dental floss and a mini first aid kit i got in asda. its still very scabby looking Its unreal how people dont reply to a simple text message when your trying to finalise numbers, its so rude! Thanks for all yer advice re the hotel and minimum numbers, they were really understanding and said although they wont budge on the numbers they will throw in food on arrival which we had cut out as it was too expensive and we're having an earlyish dinner.... I was expecting them to say no so delighted....

well ladies.. I am back and am a married woman Loved the day! It was the best day of our lives (so far) and I was so calm (surprisingly) so was able to properly enjoy and take everything in. Even with guest list hassles, a lot of declines and a few no shows it was the best day EVER!!! To the rest of you lovely May brides - enjoy every second of it and don't sweat the small stuff x
