October 2012

Postby grogmg » Sun Apr 24, 2022 10:01 am

Just noticed that us October ladies dont have our own topic - we are 18ish months out from our weddings and just thing it would be helpful to chat to eachother to see how we are all getting on.

Im late october and so far I have the following organised:
*) church
*) reception
*) cars
*) photographer
*) videographer
*) band and dj
*) invite samples made
*) favour samples made
*) mass booklet sample made

Ive also started dress shopping to get an idea of styles though havent found one that jumps out at me completely yet!

next on the list is:
*) flowers
*) church decoration
*) church singer
*) pre-marriage course

How is everyone else getting on - anyone find any brillaint deals?

Hi

We are 6th October, can't wait. We have the following booked:

Church;
Hotel;
Car;
Florist;
Band/DJ;
Men's suits (booked, no choices made yet!);
Church Musician (preliminary booking).

These are next on agenda:

Cake (have an idea as to who we would like to do it - hoping to get more samples first!);
Fairy lights (have spoken to someone about these);
Dress!
Bridesmaids dresses.

I'm dying to book the honeymoon but it's too early apparently!

It's all very exciting, I love all the booking and looking.

I'm surprised that there aren't any more October 2012 brides on here.

Wow you are all so organised. I'm getting married October 2012 as well and only have the hotel provisionally booked. We're having a civil ceremony and am trying to get the date confirmed with the HSE before I start organising everything else. Hopefully it won't take too much longer to get the date confirmed that I can get started.

It shouldnt take that much to get the date confirmed!! I take spurts of organsing things thats how I got some of the bigger things organised, every now and then I think oh I should sort out x,y and z - but then I think nah, too far out il probably look crazy trying to organise things at this stage! so just doing a lot of research and have a fair idea who we (I) would like for most things and hopefully they will suit the budget aswell!!

Oh love looking at ideas for the honeymoon - at the mo it looks like we are going to go on a mini-moon after the wedding for a week/5days to chillax and then the main honeymoon in April/May time 2013!! Gives us extra time to save for a big honeymoon that we want as never been on a big holiday together and thats what we want for the honeymoon!!!

Ooh count me in! Another 6th October girl :o)ll And omg I thought I was organising early til I read this lol. So far, I have:
Church & Hotel
Dj(he is part of our package for 3 hours, we pay the extra as we're not having a band)
Church singer (supplier on here - Margaret Sings) she'll do the drinks reception aswell
BM dress
My dress

I know who I want to use for flowers and Ill make my own bouquet, going to do a brooch bouquet :lvs
I know what I want for my cake (cupcakes) and was emailing the supplier but he never got back to me for a deposit so now Im unsure.

Thats it I think, I've loads to do still but its not like Im short of time :-8 Although we'll be surprised how fast that time actually goes Im sure
Hope springs eternal

Welcome Molly :wv I would advise you to get a scrap book or a folder for all your wee bits and pieces and to write down your ideas as the more ideas you get the harder it is to remember what they were and where you seen them! O:|

Uh oh! Feeling a little bit Ill now after reading the above posts!!! We only have the church the venue, the videograoher booked. We have the band provisionally booked although we are still looking at others. Looked on the net about church singers. Of course the one that we really like is 650 for 2 singers. I thought that it was quite expensive but to be honest for me the church is the most important. I just can't seem to make a decision on things. Aaaaaaaggggggghhhhh!
