Thats what i'm planning to do!!

We're on a tight budget for it all so anything that can be cut has been, and having a singer for the ceremony was one of the first things to go..

I think it comes down to personal choices really.. If you are happy to go with a cd then do.. That's the way we looked at it,.. :)

Yeah, we thinking of cutting out the singer due to a tight budget too, I was just a bit worried how it would sound . You planning on bringing your own cd player to church or using the churches own sound system if it has one?

I didn't know you could do that!? :eek that would be brilliant if my church lets me do that! its expensive enough paying the priest and the flowers for the church, that has to be left there as a gesture to the community, without forking out yet more money for music! i am definitely going to enquire about using a CD instead! :wv

I'm kinda lucky in this sense.. we're not having a church ceremony, having a civil ceremony at the hotel, so they have the sound system in place for that.. They're even going as far as doing up the cd for us if we just give them the list of songs and in what order we want them..

Gonna do one up myself as a just incase though.. :)

I think if anything is done poorly it can sound terrible even live singers. We will be using an ipod and hotel sound system.

We went to a wedding years ago and they had the Dublin Gospel choir I thought they were amazing as it was in small church. Another friend had them at her's this year and to me they were terrible as it was a huge church and their music/vibe didn't work well on the day.

So my point is whatever you think sounds good go with and IMO ipod/CD are better as you are guaranteed the same quality no matter where played :) :)

Hi Ladies,

I am planning on playing music for our church ceremony from an ipod, i have someone who will set up a sound system in the church so the quality is good my question is are you having all similar music or a mixture? I've picked some music thats sund by male singers, some by female singers and some instrumental, is this what you're doing too?

I have a singer for the church but tbh thats mainly because I wouldn't have the confidence to sort the music myself and have this idea of putting my brother or someone in charge and finding that he forgets because he is hitting on a bridesmaid or something.....

Hi ladies,

Just looking for some feedback from any of you who went ahead with the ipod in the church! Did it work out? Would you recommend it? I do love my music and would be so disappointed if the church music wasn't good quality... but I'm on a very tight budget and if this is an area where I can cut the expense, I'm willing to do it!

Thanks!

Hi, my mum wanted me to use a classical bridal march tune on a CD, but i didnt like the idea of it. afriad of CD skipping and then it sounded weird being cut off when i got to the top of the aisle. If you timed it right though i am sure it would sound fine. My friend is singing and another is playing guitar. So walking up to the bridal chorus being played on guitar. sounds lovely. Do you know anyone that can play any instrument?
