Recommend a Wedding DJ
Hi all

I can highly recommended Ruairi from Irish Wedding DJ - he was terrific and we had an AMAZING night.
http://www.irishweddingdj.com/products/products.html He was very open to our suggestions/list of songs we wanted and filled the dance floor all night. We also had the uplighting in the function room and it took our breath away - the room was transformed. Hope to help and all the very best with the planning and the day itself ![]() ![]() ![]() Re: Recommend a Wedding DJ

Havent had my wedding yet but when I saw this posting I came on to mention Ruairi. I didnt book him in the end (half wishing I did now considering the posts above) but he was fantastic to deal with and I remember thinking at the time that I would recommend him if the opportunity arose.
I booked Aiden kavanagh from Dublin, he will travel to Carlow no problem. His recommednations were excellent and he gave me a good price. I was a little swayed by the fact that he did O'Driscolls wedding too and has so much wide experience as a club and radio dj as well as lots of weddings. Good luck but I dont think you can go far wrong with seeing if Ruairi is free. [url=http://www.TickerFactory.com/]

Re: Recommend a Wedding DJ
Do Djs bring their own sound and light equipment or how does it work ?
Re: Recommend a Wedding DJ
It would be the norm for djs to bring their own equipment, including all of the sound and lighting they will need for the venue they are playing in, and backup in the event of something going belly up on the night - not a complete 2nd set but the key things that can get you out of trouble if something malfunctions.
Most venues will have integrated p.a systems, but these would not be sufficient for focal audio projection, and would only really be suitable to ambient music and speeches where they are not being pushed consistently. All reputable dj companies will quote inclusive of this, and it will be mentioned within your quotation and booking contract at the time you are booking. Lighting upgrades to more professional lighting systems and upllighting etc.. are additional options that your company may provide, these would be considered additional extras in most cases. Thanks for the very comprehensive answer.
What in your view is the absolute minimum voltage/wattage the sounds and light equip should be to ensure a good professional sound quality & lighting effect

Re: Recommend a Wedding DJ
Hiya,
Depends on a few things, the length, width and height of a venue. Most small to medium venues will work with about 800-1000w comfortably and for larger venues (Knightsbrook, Dunboyne are two that come to mind) you would need a bit more depending on the number of guests that you have attending your big day and audio dispersion that is required, you could go right up to 3-4kw depending on the dj and the setup they use. It is important for a dj that they have stage presence so you can use a range of lights, the most common would be a 250w lamped light, and you would have a few of these – again depending on the venue you are using because you don’t want to use too much lighting and make the area look distracting. There are two types of lighting, wash lighting – par cans or stage wash lights and then you have discharge lights which will project an image on the floor, usually supported by some smoke or haze to show the light beam. These would be the most common setups by djs, some might also user laser technology but this would be a smaller percentage. I hope this helps, it’s a bit technical reading back but generally you will get an understanding from above. Thanks, Ruairi Finnegan www.irishweddingdj.com

Just to expand on this for you, on last saturdays event we did two types of lighting in the main dancing area. The Lighting you see in mainly blue is to wash the stage area in a solid colour and the shapes you see on the ceiling are projected images called gobos which are a common feature in entertainment lighting. These will pan and sweep the room.
