Christmas 2012 Brides? :)

Hi NYE2012
i hear you. I havent seen my dress since I ordered in Feb...i am freaking that they took my measurements wrong and that it won't fit. What makes matters worse is dress costs more than my car and I won't have time to get another one. Am on a sugar free, wheat free, dairy free diet for the week, recommended by a local trainer. Im freaking out despite not having much to loose but il go mental if it doesnt fit.
getting married a few days before you. O:|

I hear you girls !
Our date was three months yesterday so time I'd flying.
Am gonna try really hard this month - just want to shift half a stone or so (for dress and epecially honeymoon) but thats the super hard weight to shift. Plus there seems to be something on every week !

Soontobemrsp how was your hen ??

I had a fake tan trial in a local salon the other week - turned out a disaster they made a mess of my hands so won't be going there ! I only plan on getting a really really light tan anyway - I am very pale so just want a little bit of warmth really. Anyway am very glad I tried out the place - don't want to be dealing with that on the day !

Hi girls,

I haven't been on in a while I know- not much time had on pc now that ive no job :(

So my progress update is:

Got my invites made.... Took a while but got through it. I just need to get my envelopes for replies and stamps and I'm good to start sending out in a few weeks.

Collected my wedding dress about 4 weeks ago and it's now 2 sizes too big! Starting alterations from 1st November.

BM dresses arrived last week- they're all spot on! I'm delighted with them!

Met with our priest for pre nuptial bits and pieces. Delighted that's out of the way. Will be meeting him again soon to finalise the ceremony so I can start on mass booklets.

Meeting with gospel choir in next few weeks so looking forward to getting that sorted.

Have pew ends made... Went with pull bows and some organza the same colour as the dresses.

So mostly all I have left to get organised is table numbers, table plan, gift for bm's and gm and some other small bits!

My hen is in 3 weeks- cant believe it!!

3 months to my big day on Friday.... Where did the last 2 years go!

Hope everyone is well!!

;)

I think winter has defo decided to arrive with the Rain pouring outside, lets just pray it gets everything out of the way so we have a dry December!

Fairly organised, Have invitations all wrote and ready to be posted. I'm going to send out early October as were NYE. I know its Ages before the 6/8 weeks, gives people time to work out time off and kids babysat...

My in laws are meeting my folks this Sunday, I'm probably making this a bigger deal that they are.

My fiance is going on Stag first weekend in October so the girls are hooking up for Dinner and Drinks...

Food tasting booked, First Dress Fitting sorted. Had my hair Trial but still not completely in love with them so just going to suggest something else.

Need to ok the booklet with the priest and then get cracking on putting that together... I'm taking December off to enjoy the countdown!!!!!!!! well thats what I'm saying now...

WOW reading throught the post, i'm so not organised getting a bit worried reading there, but sure it will all work out :eek

working on the invitations at the minute, hopefully last test run this evening then we can order the paper and wolla fingers crossed, saving a fortune if it works out

to be honest i'm at a bit of a loss as to what i can be doing, i have all the big things, but everything else seems to be planned to be decided in October, so they will be busy months....

waiting for a few christmas gifts to come in for the BM's little pressie bags, hen is nearly sorted i think, just need to send out the details this week, that's really it for me...need to sort wedding rings, shocked at how m uch a plain ring for me would be, but himself i think is getting titanium so hopefully it will be ok

any advise greatly appreciated

Hi all, hope everyone well and getting sorted bit by bit!
Is is just me or does anyone else think it doesn't really seem real that they're getting married? Like I am planning away and getting bits and pieces sorted but it's kind of like it's all in theory and then every so often it's like BAM oh my god this is MY wedding and it's getting very close now! Or like the hen party - like I know I'm away that weekend and looking forward to it, but I kind of forget that I'm the hen. Anyone know what I mean?

I finally finished my mass booklet the other day and the priest has approved it so am delighted with that. Really didn't want to have that hanging over me a couple of weeks before the wedding and be stressing. Picked up wedding stamps in the GPO yesterday for my invites - they have 4 different ones -I picked the love birds ones they are very cute. I posted a few overseas ones and will send out the rest in a week or two. Maybe that will make me feel it's a bit more real!

Have to look for a nice dress for my hen next - that's three weeks away.

Anyway keep posting I love to hear how everyone is doing!

For the offertory we picked Pie Jesu and then
Make me a channel of your peace for sign of peace.
Signing of register then we picked contemporary music -
Someone like you (by Van) and Make you feel my love (Adele). What are you thinking of ?

For the offetory we are thinking of either come to the table or The Prayer
Sign of peace: May the road rise to meet you
Signing of the register: The only one the only you Lionel Richie/
One in a million (Hannah montana version )
Or
Baby I love you The Ramones/
At Last

Really undecided about the signing of the register, also like sweet little mystery and someone like you (van morrison)

AAAggh it's so confusing so many lovely songs, we're having a lively song for walking out of the church would it be ok to have a lively song at the signing of the register too?

Hi Everyone, we all seem to be getting into the small details now!

Our invites are gone as well, mad posting them, made it feel so real!

Working on my mass booklet as well, just finished picking the readings and POF, our songs for the offertory are As I kneel Before you, then for sign of piece I picked I watch the sunrise. For the signing of register I have a few - The Voyage, The Prayer and Caledonia.

These aren't definite yet but I like them so that's the main thing!

WE have met the priest, all forms completed ad registered, cake is picked, flowers are picked, alterations app made, head piece ordered, just got the page boy suits of Ebay - so cute!

Just waiting on BM dresses to come in but not in any mad panic as my friend will do the alterations so that won't take long.

Have my hen this day next week, I just can't believe it! I feel like I'm organising someone else's wedding!! :yelrotflmaosmilie: :yelrotflmaosmilie:

Have fun with it all :compress

Crystalgal I'd say have whatever songs you want - a lively song at sign register and recessional would be fine I think! Our priest wants us to have the signing register before we walk down the aisle so gonna have two songs for that and then the recessional is LOVE by Nat King Cole and For Once in My Life by Stevie Wonder. The singer is a friend of mine so is gonna keep going as people do the greeting line which will be nice.
I posted my invites today! Weeeee so great to get them out, hopefully will get some nice feedback now.
Mrsbops are you looking forward to your hen it's this weekend right?

I really can't wait for the hen, they won't tell me anything about it and I am a complete control freak so it is cracking me up, much to the amusement of my sisters! Will let you know how it goes next week!!

Crystalgal we're having ramones too!! Love it!

Also posted our invites yesterday. Was so exciting! Havent had any texts today from people who've recieved them... Shame...

I think im in line with rest of you in terms of the to do list... Looking for dress 2 still, having fun with that!

Met with the venue last week about menus and we've chosen all our favourites rather than crowd pleasers... But there are plenty of choices so no one will go hungry! Saw the ceremony room room just as it was getting dark outside and i was covered in goose bumps thinking about the wedding! Last time we saw the room it was a sunny afternoon and it was empty... But seeing it set up and lit as it will be for us was amazing!! We'll pretty much just have loads candles n lanterns... Can't wait!

Time will just fly til christmas girls!! X

Mrs Bops I am the same - well I know a little, know where we are going, but am a bit of a planfreak so would love to know all the details - not that the girls will tell me anything. So I am constantly biting my lip and urging myself to just go with it - it's killing me hahah.

Kinnsale - so nice to see your venue like that - and honestly I don't think you can beat the atmosphere from lanterns and candlelight and the like! We saw our venue last year at Christmas to see what it looks like then and it is full of fairylights and twinkles and candlelight - but it's been so long now I would love to see it again! Might have to take a trip up early december to have a nosey again - any excuse eh!

Finally think I have my jewellery sorted. I had originally bought this long pearl drop earrings online and was gonna borrow a pearl bracelet. But when the earrings arrived they were just too big and heavy. Kept trying to convince myself for ages they were fine. In the end I went to the wedding fair in citywest last weekend just for a look as I've never been to one. Hadn't planned it but bought crystal drop earrings and a silver slim diamante bangle in the end and am way happier. Am waiting on them to arrive in the post. My dress has a silver kind of belt on it so will match that. Anyway am way happier - so if any of ye have niggling doubts about something like that my advice is to listen to them and stamp them out ;o)
