Hi sarahme1
Yeah do I was suprised how long the wait was i called them on the 23rd Feb and got the 10th october!
Next on my list is the pre marriage course I think ill do it sooner rather than later and just have it done and off the list. Is their a min/max time frame to having it done before the wedding? Might send an email off to my parish office just to be sure!

Hi Shiels2be,

I will definetly get on that today and organise the intent to marry, I am not sure there is a time frame for the pre marriage course, I think you can do it at any time that suits you, July 2013 seems so far away but I am sure we won't feel the time passing!!

Good idea to contact your parish, I would check what courses they accept, as the church that I am getting married in only accept pre marriage courses from accord so maybe check that out too!!

Oh my God. You are all so organised. We've been engaged for 5 years and have just recently decided to get married next year. I'm looking at 2 possible venues on Saturday in Kilkenny. Have the band on stand by until I confirm the hotel and have I have informed the church. With LLLOOOOOAAAAAADDDDDSSS left to do. Although a few of my friends planned their weddings over 2 years and they said I should be ok to organise it within the year. Scared I won't have enough time now. You guys are very organised!! Fair play!

jojo12- do not worry, I just wanted to get as much done as soon as possible as I am from Dublin but I am getting married in Kerry, so it was good to get as much marked off the list quickly!!

You will have more than enough time to organize your wedding, if you need any tips i'm sure there will be loads of people on here to advise

Ah thanks Sarah! We've done out a budget - although he's been very quiet since then!! Ha ha! We're not planning on a huge fancy do, so hopefully it'll work out. I'll feel better once I see the hotel on Saturday. I have my heart set on it, even though I've never been in it! Is that mad?! Ha ha! Hoping to have a look at dresses on the day too!

As regards videographer, we found they ranged from 900euro to 2000euro. We had budgeted 1000euro. In the end, we were between 2 different videographers who do cinematorgraphy style vids; one for 1300euro and one for 900euro and we went with the 900euro which we thought was very good for the style of vid (most of other vids in that price range were just the "regular" type films).
With photographer, it depends really on a number of things, like whether you want a cd only package, or pictures. Then photographers offer different packages depending on how long they will be at the wedding, how many pics you want, what style album you want etc. We had budgeted 2000euro, and our photographer had 2 packages for 1700-1900 (40 vs 70 photos)... I think we'll just decide after the wedding what package we want!

By the way, did anyone see the anti-wedding on Four Weddings last night?!!

Hi Ladies
Glad to see the groups expanding!

excitedbride2013 my invitations are lantz packet invites, 6 invites for €2 or three packets 18 invites for €5. I got them in my local bookstation (stillorgan shopping centre). They are the design in the link below but the inside is blank, which was perfect for me as I want to put my own verse in. http://www.lantz.ie/wedding-stationery/the-photo/48 and I can print them in work.
They had a number of different styles. Will upload pics when I get home this evening as I dont have them with me.

On a seperate note ladies I was online last night looking at pre marriage courses. I found one
http://www.together.ie/ its only a €100 and its a one day course. Ive emailed my parish office so hopefully this is accepted by my priest. There is so much of a price difference in the courses.

Hi Ladies,

Just a quick update on the intent to marry, I contacted the office in Dublin today and they advised that if i contact them early next year it would be well enough time to register the intent, think I will contact them before christmas and get it out of the way!

Just to add, they said that you only had to register early if you were getting married in a civil ceremony i.e hotel
