Glad to see the groups expanding!

excitedbride2013 my invitations are lantz packet invites, 6 invites for €2 or three packets 18 invites for €5. I got them in my local bookstation (stillorgan shopping centre). They are the design in the link below but the inside is blank, which was perfect for me as I want to put my own verse in. http://www.lantz.ie/wedding-stationery/the-photo/48 and I can print them in work.
They had a number of different styles. Will upload pics when I get home this evening as I dont have them with me.

On a seperate note ladies I was online last night looking at pre marriage courses. I found one
http://www.together.ie/ its only a €100 and its a one day course. Ive emailed my parish office so hopefully this is accepted by my priest. There is so much of a price difference in the courses.

Thanks!!! I must bookmark that site and look at it in the future. Let us know how you get on with the together.ie course... :yelrotflmaosmilie: I picked up a leaflet at the RDS wedding fair for the Avalon psychotherapy wedding course - I think its around the same price - but there were some posts here (or on the net, can't rem where) where some brides2be where saying their priest wouldn't accept it... so, it must depend. I have friends who did that particular course and it sounded like great gas, so we are thinking we might do that one. Must check it out (maybe next month's job haha)...

Hi, i'm meant to be getting married July/Aug 2013. Haven't booked or looked any where yet. Have done a guest list, which is about 270. I have researched hotel but nothing else yet. Hoping that i wont have to do the marraige course cause we are living together years and already have kids, i know sometimes they say that a small donation to the church will do instead. Trying to lose weight before even looking at dresses, need to loose at least a stone.

Oh livster I love you!! We haven't booked anywhere yet and I'm starting to panic!! We're hoping to get married in July next year and have kind of decided this recently. I'm looking at two places on Saturday but really want to book something soon. However, I have been told by a few people that organising it over two years can be a little bit of an anti-climax. Ah I don't know. It'll all work out in the end! ;)

Hi Everyone :wv

Another July '13 bride looking to join the thread :hyper:

So far, I have booked:
Church,
Venue,
Band + DJ,
Uplighters.

Next on the list: photographer, videographer, church music & cars... (have some ideas for these so it's a start!)

Hardest decision so far is the photographer - I've contacted loads of them, I'm afraid I'll make the wrong decision. One day I'm thinking, sure they're only photos, go with the best/cheapest deal you can get -- the next day I'm like, cop on girl, you'll be looking at these photos forever, go all out or you'll regret it lol.. I'm gonna try narrow it down soon and see how I go :) I'm thinking a disc-only package as I'm not in any panic for an album - I'd probably enjoy putting one together myself after the wedding. Also finding it quite hard to judge by looking on the net alone - some of the most professional photograpers have resized the images for their website (afecting the quality) so I'm trying to think what the pics would be like at full quality. And then, some of the others I looked at (incl some amateur photographers) are wowing me with their material online but I'm thinking, it might be because they didn't resize their images so the pics appear really crystal clear & sharp?! Or maybe it's just the equipment they're using?
I've a feeling it's gonna be a while before I make my mind up on this one :yelrotflmaosmilie:

@Livster.... +1 on the pre-marriage course & on the losing weight before trying on dresses - I'm putting my dress hunting aside for a couple of months, give myself a chance to lose even a bit! Suppose if I can't do it for my wedding, I'll prob never do it :duh:

On the cake front, my H2B informed me there last night that he doesn't really like icing!! Well love that's what kind of makes the wedding cake a wedding cake!! I might get a little sponge made up for him! :) How much are people budgeting for the cake?! I don't want to spend a fortune on it, as there's usually loads left over, as people aren't really into wedding cakes anymore. I've budgeted for not more than €300. And it won't be the traditional style, maybe that chocolate crispy type cake!

We made the decision not to have a cake, although we had great craic trying out all the samples at wedding fairs and oohing and ahhing over the gorgeous cakes (there are some amazing cakes). I think they're generally around 300 to 400euro depending on size/how many layers you want). But my sister in law 2be ended up having to throw out a lot of her wedding cake, and at the last 2 weddings I was at no-one got up to even see the bride and groom cut the cake. I don't think I ate the cake either when it came around in the evening... I just can't justify the cost.

Livster, we're having somewhere between 270-300 people at our wedding too, mostly family (both from big families). When I tell people in Dublin (where I work) they generally are amazed so maybe it's a country thing??? :yelrotflmaosmilie:

Beanchile, with the video thing, I think if you'd like one, then go for it. I've been to a few weddings and I never had a problem with the camera being shoved in my face or anything like that... I'd say that most videographers nowadays don't do that, and I'm sure if you pick a good one, you won't have that problem!
