Winter Wedding - how to wrap up & keep warm ??

Winter Wedding - how to wrap up & keep warm ??

Postby IsMise » Wed Apr 04, 2022 7:05 pm

I am a cold creature but like winter, hence my winter wedding.
However I am wondering how to keep warm in my wedding dress ?

what boleroes, capes, cloaks are you wearing or thinking of wearing ?
Where did you buy ?

Please post all.

Don't want to be a blue bride :o0

how about wearing tights? you can get really cool ones in nude/ivory with class detail and if your shoes are closed in it'd work real well. of your feet are warm the rest of you is too. a blanket for your car? slippers? and your wrap/fur. there's also mulled wine :o0

I didnt feel the cold at all the day of my wedding last May...

now I know it was May, but it was an "Irish May Day". Raining in the morning, windy and sunny in the afternoon, so windy that you could barely hold your eyes open for the photos,....

I didnt feel one bit cold , possibly due to the exhilleration (sp) and excitement of the day,

now my bridesmaids were perished the poor things and were secretly cursing me under their breaths with the cold wind they were having to put up with...

but really I wouldnt worry , just have a wedding umbrella and youll be grand...

unless its snowing then possibly a shrug or bolero...

all the best

:)

I have a fur bolero initially was like ah sure I'll sell it, it comes with dress but having seen so many people looking for them thought I was mad to get rid of it before the big day Murphy's law would be snow!

oh my God, that coat is stunning futuremrss!

i got my wrap on etsy, & the girls' wraps on ebay. also got umbrellas. was telling the girls they could wear footless tights (they have peep toe shoes) or even leggings under their dresses!

i'm not sure yet about tights, but i did get closed toe shoes for myself.

you could maybe also try gloves (satin, cashmere, lace etc.)

you could bring a flask of hot chocolate (maybe laced with some rum or brandy!) for the car after the ceremony!

Hi. I also am on the look out for a jacket or bolero. The lady in the bridal shop advised me to avoid fur boleros or anything too long or bulky as it would hide my figure. Has Anyone come across a fitted short jacket, I dont see much- they are all the fur coverups that I can see online. Has anyone come across any good websites? Thanks
